LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP)-A suburban Atlanta prosecutor has dropped a disorderly conduct charge against an anti-abortion activist who was arrested for driving a truck emblazoned with images of aborted fetuses....
Police had arrested Robert Dean Roethlisberger Jr. 44, of Missouri near the Mall of Georgia the day after Thanksgiving when he refused to remove images on a "Truth Truck," owned by Operation Rescue, an anti-abortion group. Police, who said the images were "obscene and vulgar", also impounded the truck and removed the banners.
In an e-mail Monday to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Szabo (County Solicitor) said, "To ensure no abridgement of constitutional rights, application of this statute must neccessarily be narrow and limited...I have reviewed the evidence and law in this case and concluded the physical display of the images in question-as shocking and offensive as they are-does not constitute 'obscene and vulgar or profane language' as specifically prohibited by this statute."
Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said the decision vindicates Roethlisberger and condemns the police officer "who so aggressively violated our constitutional rights." He said the organization is considering a lawsuit.

Fascinating to the point of sickening.
You are so right. Better that millions of innocents be killed than parents having to take the time to explain life to their kids.
Nevermind that theyre my children and I already have a very good idea of their mindset and when they will be ready to be approached about that kind of thing. Nope, you have an agenda and thats final. Nevermind that my wife and I are pro-life and will pass that sentiment on to our kids. Were not pro-life enough for you so youre going to do something about it.
As a young woman, I thought abortion was ok and that it was just a blob of cells. It was one of those graphic brochures that changed my attitude.
The truth is indeed ugly.
Folks cannot handle the truth.
I’ll rephrase it. “It’s better that children be protected from this kind of thing than saving at least one life because a mother saw an abortion image and changed her mind about having one”.
To add to what you just said, my dad and I were discussing this issue recently and how the religious right has been WAY too dependent on politicians to do what we as Christians need to be doing.
The battle to stop abortions will be fought one heart and mind at a time. It is up to Christians to get out and do that by talking to girls and providing them with information.
We need to quit listening to and believing any politican who claims he/she is going to overturn R v. W.
It ain’t gonna happen. They will say whatever it takes to get your vote and then move on and turn their backs on you.
God does not want Christians to be lazy and complacent and depend on the government to do wht we should be doing.
“But I do think that images of human mutilation are bad, morally, emotionally, and spiritually, for children.”
They are wounding, but they aren’t bad.
In a place and time where one out of three or four pregnancies results in the murder of an unborn child, it may be that people who see the truth, face the truth, and especially those who try to do something about it will be wounded by it.

They showed a childbirth film when I was in high school which made students queasy and some even sick enough to run to the toilet.
It's a question of age and sensitivity. It's like knowing about rape or torture. They may know "what it is," but they don't have to have vivid images of it seared into their minds.
But not as little kids. I still believe little kids should be protected. I still believe in childhood.
See mine at #70.
Hello neighbor,
I did not see the truck either and would have been just as gut wrentched as you would have been. The true vulgarity here is the fact that any photographs of aborted fetuses even exist, just as the motivation behind exposing them in such an extremely passionate way exists. It shouldn’t.
I hear what you’re saying. Even that - pointing out the babies being just like us - is not necessary. Little kids know that instinctively. Life is the natural human disposition; it’s pro-choice that needs the semantic finagling and twisting of facts, and it rests on ignorance of life to appear. FWIW the gory images on not something we dwell on - my four-year-old saw them once, with plenty of forewarning, which may be sufficient. Babies in-utero OTOH - one of her favorite storybooks is “Angels in the Water”.

As much as many freepers are complaining that their children may have been affected by the photos on these trucks, there are families in Communist China that would love to see the day when their children could see these photos as they are under government imposed abortions. Better to see than not be.
Will that day come to America. It’ll be sooner without these displays.
