Times Executive Editor Bill Keller delivered the Hugo Young Memorial Lecture in London in November, sponsored by the liberal Guardian newspaper, and said some things to his journalistic friends he might not felt comfortable telling a more general audience.
"...And I would argue that in this clattering, interconnected, dangerous world, journalism that cuts through the noise has never been needed more. We have a war going very badly in Iraq, and another one in Afghanistan where our declaration of victory looks very premature."
"...Third, we are agnostic as to where a story may lead; we do not go into a story with an agenda or a pre-conceived notion. We do not manipulate or hide facts to advance an agenda. We strive to preserve our independence from political and economic interests, including our own advertisers. We do not work in the service of a party, or an industry, or even a country. When there are competing views of a situation, we aim to reflect them as clearly and fairly as we can."

I take it he can’t get his meds in London.
Hahahahaha! John Murtha disagrees with you! LOL
To steal an exclamation from the breathtakingly anti-military and often unfunny, M*A*S*H:
Horse Hockey!
Then get the F out of this one, traitor!!!
so when was he granted a security clearance and given the details that lead him to this conclusion? While I’m at it, when have any of these media and hollywood buffoons received vital info other than what they read in the NY Times? Exactly.
I have no problem with a journalist presenting just the facts, without being in the service of a party or country.
The problem is that they are most often in the service of the group that is against this country. Being a cheerleader against one side is just as biased as being a cheerleader for one side.
We do not work in the service of a party, or an industry, or even a country. When there are competing views of a situation, we aim to reflect them as clearly and fairly as we can."
I am a small German boy, who can sometimes turn into a gaseous planet or a brilliant diamond. When a situation arises, a million yellow monkees come to my aid, bringing television antennas and watermelon taffy.

Or is he stunningly ignorant?
Or simply a liar?
Maybe all of the above?
No, No he’s right. The war isn’t going very well right now for left wing journalists.
When he says “we” does he mean “we Islamofascists” or “we enemies of Western imperialism” or “we Brits”?
that’s funny
What a steaming pantload.
ROTFLMAO!
Rush and others have been saying that Iraq won’t be an issue in the ‘08 main event because its going well. Are the trash still hanging their hats on this thing for some unknown reason, or is it really going that badly? I don’t believe it is, or that the trash can be right about this.
I guess, according to his train of thought - Killing more terrorists will only contribute to globull warming.
How appropriate, leftist weasel Bill Keller goes off to preach to the choir of al-Guardian. Yes, these jackals all get along so well together, because most of the left is united in seeking and working for the destruction of western civilization. They think they will somehow be left standing after allying themselves with the Islamo-fascists, when in reality they would be among the first killed or enslaved after a victory of the jihadists.
