Amen! It's gotten so bad for me that I don't attend church either. My wife and I like to refer to ourselves as "believers" in The Lord Jesus Christ, as opposed to "Christians." I've had more rotten experiences with people calling themselves Christians than anything else I've ever encountered. I call it the "Frank Burns syndrome." It's either "God's will or somebody else's fault."
I'm beginning to like Thompson a great deal. He talks clearly, plainly and, I believe, acts more "Christian" than any of these other wouldbes.
As a Catholic, I attend Mass every week. It’s very personal to me and not like some other denominations where I have attended. My parish priest doesn’t get out there preaching beyond what was in the Bible readings for that day. And never talks about fund-raising. I’m very fortunate.
