If the CNN GOP debate proved anything, it is that Ron Paul is not going gently into that goodnight, no matter how badly his fellow Republicans wished he would.
Not since the days of Ross Perot has a candidate flown in the face of the American political Wehrmacht. The public response has never been as robust as Paul's supporters, who possess every level of education, variety of profession, and personal value structure imaginable.
The Paul supporters put their money where there mouths are, and the coffers for Paul's campaign continue to swell.
One independent organizer, Trevor Lyman, an online music promoter, was the catalyst behind the Guy Fawkes Day raise of $4.2 million.
The Paul base are tech savvy and know how to network and organize, and their efforts are paying off.
The December 16 anniversary of the 1773 Boston Tea Party protest of taxation without representation is the next big push, as nearly 24,000 people have pledged to donate $100.
Republican candidate, Ron Paul, spoke in a message emailed to his supporters today.
Paul expressed his dissatisfaction with the CNN debate and the bias of limiting his time to speak but he did say that he was happy that McCain launched his premeditated attack toward him.
Paul said, Mainstream politicians never attack an opponent they think is far behind. The McCain campaign, we've heard, is worried sick about New Hampshire, and they thought a slam at me would help. Ha! Of course, it only strengthened our forces.
Describing the number of supporters that turned out outside the debate in St Petersburg Florida for the debate, Paul said, We, on the other hand, had about 500 enthusiastic revolutionaries, plus a boat, a trolley, and two planes towing lighted signs. As I looked out at the crowd, I thought: the establishment has no idea of what they are facing. We have an army of freedom, prosperity, and peace.
The British also thought they had no problem with the Americans--until Yorktown. Paul continued, Rudy Giuliani walked up to me and said, Oooh, you sure have a LOT of supporters. Its only the beginning, I told him.
Paul also said, The military-industrial complex, the biased media, the big banks, the Fed, the waterboarders, and the IRS dont like what were doing. But every good American is applauding us, and daring to hope for a better future.
One of Paul's supporters in Los Angeles is Stephen Vincent, who has organized "The Freedom Message" - a live call-in internet talk radio show which chronicles and supports the growth of the Freedom Movement and the campaign of Congressman Ron Paul for President. LINK
This YouTube channel is an outlet for archived programs overlayed with video content, related video productions and Steven Vincent's VideoBlog.
Monsters had a chance to speak with Vincent today.
What turnout are you anticipating for the December 16 "Tea Party" in Santa Monica?
Stephen Vincent: There does seem to be some buzz growing around this and folks are coming from as far away as Santa Barbara, Ventura and Riverside. Its always tough to call. I would guesstimate 100-125 people.
How and why did you get involved in the Ron Paul movement?
Stephen Vincent: The country is no longer ruled by law but rather by men (and women). There is a corrupt plutocracy ruling over us which disregards the constitution and if we as a people do not take decisive action it will be our near term fate to be subjected to dictatorship, unending war and economic collapse. Ron Paul stands for the rule of law, the Constitution and government of, by and for the people.
Why are both the "liberal" and "conservative" mainstream press so negative towards Paul and his supporters, in your opinion?
Stephen Vincent: The old left/right, Democrat/Republican, Liberal/Conservative political paradigm is breaking down. Both sides of the false paradigm have vested interests in its maintenance. Ron Paul and his message of freedom heralds the new paradigm: Constitutionalist vs. Statist.
Statists, whether of the left or right varieties believe that the State is the solution to every problem. Constitutionalists believe in the rights of the individual and that rule of law protects the individual and society from the tyranny of the State.
The Ron Paul Revolution is a revolution on a paradigmatic level. The body politic Americana is being radically reconfigured at this very moment and will never be the same.
If Paul is shut out of the GOP convention, will you urge him run as an Independent?
Stephen Vincent: I will support an Independent or Third Party run by Congressman Paul and would urge him to do so in the event that he does not win the Republican Party nomination.
It’s easy to find people with money, who live in their parents’ basements.
Yes only moveon is giving to RP. Wasting their time with a $10.00 donation. Great logic, conspiracy theory logic, but great logic.
No ordinary everyday american is giving to RP, just Soros and the clan. If that CTL is true, they better start writing checks, because come the 16th of Dec., the volunteers who set up the tea party donation day expect to raise about 5 million dollars. Thats a lot of 10 (you’re figure) to 100 dollar checks. LOL
Well actually, Hitler’s rise was due in a large part to the way Germany was treated after WWI. Does that fact excuse his subsequent actions? No, but it goes a long way to explain WHY it happened. France, England and the United States dictated that much of Germany’s industry be dismantled and/or retooled so that weapons couldn’t be manufactured. Large portions of historically German land was turned over to France. The entire population of Germany was incensed over their treatment, making the lure of a tyrannical dictator look good by comparison.
At about the same time European powers divided the Middle East along lines that made no sense to the people who lived there. Kuwait and Iraq didn’t even exist before that and the nomadic tribes that inhabited the area couldn’t live on either side of a line they couldn’t see.
Germany didn’t get a bye for WWII and whichever middle eastern country that is orchestrating this latest dust-up can’t get a “do-over” either.
Frankly, I think that Saudi Arabia is the force behind all the problems we’re having. Iraq probably did have chemical weapons and Iran would like to have the bomb but I don’t see how any of the lesser players could do anything without the support of Saudi Arabia.
I don’t know if you’ve ever read “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross, but if you could just read the forward I think it will explain the roots of WWII better than I have. It isn’t quite what we were taught in school but I think you probably guessed that. The rest of the book is an outstanding read too.
If you think that explains why Hitler declared himself the third installment of the Roman Empire, attempted to conquer the world and murdered Six Million innocent men, women and children; then no wonder you think Ron Paul is anything but a dangerous appeaser that will get American Citizens murdered by crazed Radical Muslims.
By your rationale, The South would have rearmed a generation after The War Between the States, attempted to invade and conquer The North, and murdered all of the nonwhites in America.
The truth is Hitler's Reich were evil liars that could not be trusted in just the same way Radical Islam must not be given a moments forbearance.
"This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence economic, political, even spiritual is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."
A quote from that original blame-America first moonbat Eisenhower's 1961 farwell address.
You may not wish to understand, but Herr Hitler would have remained an obscure Austrian housepainter but for the discontent amongst Germans due almost entirely to the EXTREME conditions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles after WWI. Which could not have happened without our entry into that war and the demand on our part of the UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER of Germany. Had Woodrow Wilson not gone in to bail out the banking interests and their loans to England, the war would have come to its usual conclusion: a negotiated end, a few changes to the map of Europe, and that would have been it... until the next time. Those wars had gone on that way for CENTURIES. There probably would not have been a Russian Revolution or the rise of the Reds, either... But to save J.P. Morgan’s loans and the Rockefellers’ nasty butts, we suffered a blowback that STILL reverberates in the halls of world history. Was it worth it? In a word, HELL NO... How many people were killed in the last century by governments, both in and out of wars? During and after WWI, as many as 100-150 MILLIONS... a good percentage of them by Communists who would not have been in power to do so, had it not been for Woodrow Wilson and his war for the bankers. And Hitler would not have managed to come to power to kill HIS millions, for the same reason.
Was that America’s fault? No, HELL no. It was the fault of conniving bankers and a venal, self-serving and loathsome political hack, a RAT, no less, who connived to get us into a war and then set in motion things we have YET to see the end of...
Hmmm...and how long ago was 1961? (Hint: It's more than 30 years.)
Are you actually saying that we shouldn't worry our pretty heads over his foreign policy in wartime because he's good on spending?
there's a lot to deal with in this post, but let me ask this: where were you guys when the provisions in the Patriot Act were being used against the Mafia? If this stuff is too dangerous to be in force in a time of war, why was it OK for it to be used against the mob?
I'm in favor of any candidate who will leave me as a taxpaying American citizen alone, slaughter the enemy abroad and keep illegals from coming here to get my tax dollars.
PS: Having said that, I would take Paul over the Huckster. Any day of the week. Huck would be a smoke nazi, food cop Jimmy Carter appeaser on foreign policy.
If every good American is supporting Ron Paul, then there are only 4% of us who are any good. Not promising. Plus, how come so many of the “good” Americans are neo-nazis and truthers?
Yep... bear in mind that terrorists CANNOT come here and take away our Constitution and give us total government... ONLY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT can do that, with the connivance of all of the “security at any price” bunch of wusses. And all the OTHER liberals.
It WASN’T good for it to be used against the Mafia... OR ANYONE ELSE, PERIOD. USA-PATRIOT is a pernicious and evil piece of crap.
Well then, where were you guys? why are you on it now, but weren't on it then? What, I can have my freedom taken away so somebody can break up a mob family but not to keep New Yourk and Chicago from disappearing under a mushroom cloud?
The reality is that most of those who claim the rest of us are sheep are actually sheep themselves. As soon as the right people, people who want us to lose this war, started bleating "police state" they were ready to follow, but until then they had no worries.
Roger that...I am ashamed there are evangelicals supporting this guy just because he talks a good game Bible-wise. We aren’t supposed to elect a pastor-in-chief. And when I say that, I don’t mean I think he’d be a theocrat, just that there are some real rubes in the church who think that we should (this is the part that gets me) vote for the guy who thinks most like us on religious issues. That is just pathetic.
If you think they can't, you live in a dream world.
Part of me understands the anger of socons when the GOP tried to ram Rudy down their throats. They are striking back in Iowa and saying “you Wall St. Republicans pissed on us, so take this. We’ll vote for a populist pro life, family values Christian who will take your money.”
I give FReepers credit for not trying to ram a nanny state theocrat down the libertarian portion of the base’s throat. We need a complete conservative. I think we have one. By process of elimination, Fred is the only option.
