Webb has studied the DEM/Rat play book and sees that since they have no core and stand for nothing but pure political power he can't really be caught taking a stand on anything(unless approved by the party) since it will alienate him with one of the rat s;linter groups no matter what he says in his current party.
He has to constantly run on his past before he was a dem/rat.
This is how the dems will get future drones into office by running as if they were us...conservative. It's a slick move and worked big time for them in 06 and may work again until they get caught simply by their voting records alone.
With basically a Joe 6-Pak mentality voter base little tricks like the above can and do work for the rat party.
Of course 20 years from now when the base is made up of illegals and others it won't matter. For now it's their only way to score, pretend to be us.
