Yep. Seems strange that they would cancel so many flights with no explanation. Especially when they did state the weather conditions were clear. Hmmm.

Man Arrested, Charged After Guns Found At Airport (Hawaii)
December 30, 2007

HONOLULU -- A man was arrested Saturday night after he tried to board a plane at Honolulu's airport to the Mainland with two fully-loaded guns. The State Sheriff's Office said Christopher Hollie had hidden the semi-automatics in his luggage and refused to tell officers why.

KITV's Denby Fawcett reported that the Sheriffs' Office said this was a very unusual incident, and that it's extremely rare for them to arrest a passenger trying to fly out of Hawaii with loaded guns hidden in his or her luggage.

The Sheriff's Office in charge of airport law enforcement said Hollie was arrested at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. TSA security said they found a .45 handgun and a .9 mm semi-automatic weapon. Both guns were loaded and concealed in his packed clothes, officials said. Sheriffs said even though the guns were in checked luggage and were not going into the passenger section of the plane, it was of grave concern because both guns were fully-loaded and ready to use.

The Sheriff's Office said Hollie told them he was going to Ohio. Sheriffs said Hollie was uncooperative after he was arrested. He told them he worked at Tripler Hospital, but he would not say why he was traveling with loaded guns.
