I had to read a book for school about a Sudanese kid who lived in Sudan all his life but eventually escaped to America...he describes the violence and famine and disease. The Arabs rode on horseback killing the infidels with swords and guns...he mentions Darfur. He hated it and wanted to leave. Only an ignorant loony Westerner would want to STAY there.
I caught a little crap from some posters on another thread here for saying I couldn't feel sorry for this woman because she brought it upon herself volunteering to go to a muslim hellhole like Sudan.

Did he mention Darfur or Khartoum? Two different places... but in any event I'd see no reason to remain in Sudan anymore.
It's sad for my liberal friend, because I think she was doing some good work there. But I am also glad she had the smarts to Get Out.
