BUMP
It's almost like being there LIVE!The key word there is "almost."
Since I was there live, I got to shake Fred's hand -- TWICE!
And I was able to pose for a picture with his lovely wife. :o)I should have that image posted here soon.

Thanks Ron - this is awesome!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Darn! I looked over the crowd, but because I was sitting toward the back... I didn’t recognize the back of anyone’s head!!!
My car had a problem, so I left right after the rally was over to get my car looked over.. I drove 2 hours to get there today and didn’t want to be stuck on the freeway going home, luckily, all was okay for the trip back.
Next time... I will stay to meet all you wonderful Freepers!!
There will ALWAYS be a "next time."As it happemns, I got there early, and was able to get a seat in the second row, on the aisle...
...EXACTLY where Fred chose to come, after he left the stage at the end of the rally, to greet everyone personally. So, I was one of the first to shake his hand. :o)
I think your “Caps Lock” is “on.”
Thanks Ron - this is awesome! Thanks!
Wait until you see the picture of me with Fred's wife! :o)Once again, I was "in the right place, at the right time."
I am expecting that photo via e-mail from the woman who was sitting next to me in the second row, who said that she was with MinutemanHQ.I understand that OTHER Minutemen were at the rally, but were not allowed to bring thier signs with them inside.
I can understand BOTH sides. It WAS, however, a "Fred" rally, not a "Minuteman" event.
I think your "Caps Lock" is "on."LOL!
It's called "thread promotion" -- and it WORKED!It got YOU to click on ths thread, didn't it? :o)
I would vote for Thompson is Ziegler gets Tony Snow’s old position in the WH, and is allowed to be unleashed

Presidential candidate Fred Thompson visits Orange County for a rally and speech, and gives the Register a one-on-one interview.By RICHARD CHANG
THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTERLynn Schott of Irvine walked into a Laguna Woods clubhouse Saturday morning not really sure who she'd vote for in the February presidential primary. She walked out confident about her pick: Fred Thompson.
"I was really on the fence before," said the 45-year-old home school educator. "I came here to get more information. The combination of listening to the debate the other night and coming here to the rally and seeing him up close really put me over into his camp..."

LOL!ABC News' Christine Byun reports: While warming up the crowd for a Fred Thompson rally, a former Los Angeles AM radio host took a swipe at Hillary Clinton just a day after a man took staffers hostage in her Rochester, N.H. field office.
"Some nut job broke in there, took hostages and apparently threatened to blow himself up unless he got a chance to speak to Hillary. Now, I found this rather odd because I always feel like blowing myself up after hearing Hillary Clinton speak," John Ziegler said. The audience laughed and applauded.
Ziegler quickly added, "By the way, the opinions expressed during this portion of the presentation are not necessarily those of Fred Thompson, the Fred Thompson campaign or anyone affiliated in the Republican party."
I liked John Ziegler's OTHER "Hillary!" joke better, paraphrased here:
"Fred Thompson is such a great guy that even his ex-girlfriends endorse him.Compare that fact with the OTHER candidates in this race.
Do you think that HILLARY has been endorsed by all of HER ex-girlfriends?"

Thompson Warns of Welfare State
Sunday December 2, 2007 2:16 AMLAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson said Saturday that election of a Democrat to the White House in 2008 would open the way for a welfare state where bigger government, higher taxes and defense cutbacks sap the country's economic and military strength.
``Our country is at a crossroads,'' Thompson told several hundred people at a rally at a community clubhouse.
``We know that the most liberal element of the Democratic Party has taken control of the Democratic Party, and if they win this next election we're going to go down the road of a welfare state,'' he said.
After warning of a government that gets ``bigger and bigger,'' he said ``I don't think the American people are going to turn the keys to this country over to the most left-wing part of a left-wing party next year.''
``We've got to make sure that doesn't happen,'' he said.
Thompson's speech came on a day when most of his time was devoted to a string of fundraisers.
He never mentioned his Republican rivals in his remarks, but in a GOP race where some candidates have been criticized for shifting positions on conservative touchstone issues, Thompson asserted he is squarely in the Reagan tradition. ``Principles don't change, circumstances change,'' he said.
In an interview published on the Orange County Register Web site, Thompson said he was ``pretty much where I thought we'd be'' in the polls but stressed that races in early voting states remain volatile.
He hinted he'd have to win South Carolina, or come close to it, to remain competitive.
``I must do pretty well in Iowa. I must do very well in South Carolina. And then once you come South, anybody who's keeping up with any of that knows that I'm ahead most places,'' Thompson said.
Yeah!!! Although ... I don't think there's any leashing Ziegler. He is uninhibited and always surprising. That KFI didn't bend over backward to keep him doesnt'say much for KFI. Ziegler is a guy of rare, great talent. I hope he comes back to radio, his natural medium.
Thanks, for the ping. :)
