If we didnt actually see it would we believe it? British middle school teacher Gillian Gibbons sits in fear of her life in a Sudanese jail because she named a teddy bear given to her students, Muhammad.
The 21st century has now met the 14th century in real time and although the result sounds like a page out of Ripleys Believe it or Not this is real life in real time this week in America and the rest of the world.

“... one of the so called moderate Muslims ... insists that moderate Muslims around the globe condemn this kind of extremism but when asked which Muslim country, or moderate Muslim organization has been heard from specifically, he has no answer.”
FWIW, Mark Steyn notes one:
“The Irish Supreme Muslim Council vehemently abhors and deplores the verdict of guilt issued by a Sudanese Court against the British school teacher Gillian Gibbons for allegedly “insulting religion”.
“The Council believes that a full criminal trial and now custodial sentence over the naming of a classroom toy is abominable and defies common sense.”

It’s short and statement and well worth your time to read. You’d have to be pretty wild-eyed to dismiss this one.

Take care Joe, I think that statement has gotten a fatwa issued against you. You should see if Rushdie is looking for a roommate.

***sounds like a page out of Ripleys Believe it or Not***
Much of the origional “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” was taken from various arabic histories.

I think we need to replace the phrase, “Sh*t for brains” with “Muhammad for brains.” Additional comments will be appreciated.

The appropriate response should be that every individual who has the name Mohamed should be executed since it is an insult to humanity.

I’d love to see a rally with 10,000 people wearing “I can’t bear Muhammad” t-shirts. Any entrepreneurs out there?

I like this one.

I tell you guys what, if some teacher names a teddy bear Moses, I am going to freak out right there and call for Jihad. Of course, I dont have a ratty beard so no one would take me seriously.
I see the entire group over there in the middle east as future customers of big pharma. Those jokers need some serious meds and counseling.
