London, June 2 (ANI): Hillary Clinton, the frontrunner to become the next American president, suffered serious bouts of depression when she was the U.S. First Lady in 1994.
According to former Watergate scandal journalist Carl Bernstein, Hillary also displayed persistent signs of melancholy as a student.
Bernstein quotes David Gergen, then a senior Clinton aide, as saying: "I don't know whether she was seeing a doctor or not but she was depressed" in his book -- "A Woman in Charge" in 1994, a year after her husband, Bill Clinton became president.
The book says Clinton's "emotional state" was "as fragile as it had ever been" in late 1994 after her close friend Vince Foster had committed suicide, her father had died and her healthcare proposals had been rejected.
Due to be published on Tuesday, the book, according to The Telegraph, could damage the New York senator's ambition to become America's first female president.
The claims are part of a potentially devastating portrait of a woman whom, Bernstein concludes, is controlling, aloof, dishonest and greatly flawed as a politician.
Although the Clinton campaign has attempted to dismiss the book, Bernstein's pedigree and sympathy towards the former first lady's policies make this difficult.
Advance media coverage has focused principally on suggestions that the Clintons came close to divorce in 1989. But accounts of Mrs Clinton's temper, tendency to bear grudges, lying, detachment and struggle to establish her own identity are likely to prove more damaging. The prospect of a commander-in-chief who might be prone to depression during a crisis could deter voters. (ANI)
Hey, thanks! I was afraid someone on this forum was advocating an assassination. Whew!
“Ingnorant” response?
Nuff said.
There's still plenty of 'flotsam' that the large majority of the electorate have never been informed of, due largely to her protection by the MSM.
One of the biggest pieces is the role of Huma Abedin in Her Royal Thighness' entourage. Lesbian lover? Saudi agent? Pro-Islamic Middle East advisor? Any of these or any combination of them are plausible, and if true, should disqualify her from the presidency, if the electorate cares to see and think.
I didn’t think there was a requirement for the First Lady to share her health history whereas the President always did provide his to the WH medical dept..except for Slick who didn’t want the doctor to know what that clear fluid was..said it was for allergy. But anyone who has ever taken allergy shots knows the dilution is always listed on the bottle as well as what it is for i.e. mold. So what was the clear liquid? My bet...antibiotics.
Thanks for the ping!

All days are not sunny!
Thank you, potlatch.
I totally agree that no life is perfect.
Whether she suffers from depression, or not, is moot.
She would be a horrible President even if she had no problems whatsoever.
[All days are not sunny!]
Heavens no, but when the sun is blocked for weeks or months then I guess it does great harm.
This has been an interesting thread.
[She would be a horrible President even if she had no problems whatsoever.]
Lol, I laughed at that but do agree with you. Bill was enough to drive her over the edge but I think she was already ‘there’ early on!!
She’s ‘there’ all right!
But, I think she’s been on the edge all of her life.
He just gave her the final nudge. ;o)
[He just gave her the final nudge. ;o)]
It wasn’t hard enough, lol!
LOL!
There’s still time...;o)
LOL, thank you for the best laughs of the day!!
I keep saying that the people who run the Washington Poat hate Hillary. They know she is evil and a real bitch.
No, there is no legal requirement for anyone in public office or running for public office to share his/her health history. But revealing the basic details of that history (e. g., Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson both being forthright about prostate cancer) helps a candidate create a trusting relationship with prospective voters. This is especially important for presidents and presidential candidates since the impact of their health problems on their job performance is of most import to the public.
Slick who didn't want the doctor to know what the clear fluid was ... said it was for allergy.
IIRC, that's because the doctor at the WH at the time was a Bush administration holdover, and "Slick" didn't trust him with the info. In fact, I believe that WH doctor was forced to resign shortly thereafter. Doctors should not, as a matter of ethics, discolose their patient's medical info unless the patient specifically permits them to do so. So Clinton does have a legitimate privilege that he exercised to not let us know. Other presidents, BTW, have disclosed even serious medical info (e. g., Eisenhower, who suffered a heart attack and a stroke) while others tended to keep things under wraps.
“This beast is one of the most controlled, deceitful, cunning demons running unchained in this nation.”
So much for her positive traits. Do you have any negatives to place on the table for us to discuss?
: )
Maybe it was a coping mechanism for being married to Hillary.
ping!
I’ll be here all week...try the veal...don’t forget to tip the waitress.
;o)
Thanks for the ‘tip’, good to see you!
