London, June 2 (ANI): Hillary Clinton, the frontrunner to become the next American president, suffered serious bouts of depression when she was the U.S. First Lady in 1994.
According to former Watergate scandal journalist Carl Bernstein, Hillary also displayed persistent signs of melancholy as a student.
Bernstein quotes David Gergen, then a senior Clinton aide, as saying: "I don't know whether she was seeing a doctor or not but she was depressed" in his book -- "A Woman in Charge" in 1994, a year after her husband, Bill Clinton became president.
The book says Clinton's "emotional state" was "as fragile as it had ever been" in late 1994 after her close friend Vince Foster had committed suicide, her father had died and her healthcare proposals had been rejected.
Due to be published on Tuesday, the book, according to The Telegraph, could damage the New York senator's ambition to become America's first female president.
The claims are part of a potentially devastating portrait of a woman whom, Bernstein concludes, is controlling, aloof, dishonest and greatly flawed as a politician.
Although the Clinton campaign has attempted to dismiss the book, Bernstein's pedigree and sympathy towards the former first lady's policies make this difficult.
Advance media coverage has focused principally on suggestions that the Clintons came close to divorce in 1989. But accounts of Mrs Clinton's temper, tendency to bear grudges, lying, detachment and struggle to establish her own identity are likely to prove more damaging. The prospect of a commander-in-chief who might be prone to depression during a crisis could deter voters. (ANI)
I think attacking her on this plays right into the stereotype of conservatives being mean-spirited and will draw people to defend her.
I also sense that you don’t have much understanding and/experience with mental health issues.
I’d be willing to help cure her of depression. I’ll contribute a stool and a rope.
Sounds like she is mentally unfit to be President.
awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, poor hill, she's suffered sooooooo much, what with that clown she's married to screwing around, her depression, her being bullied by the ole boys club and then and then oooooooo, and then there was yesterday's incident where some mentaly ill person held a few hostages at her campaign HQ, oh my, poor hill, we just HAVE to vote for her, look at all she's been through........./sarcasm OFF
She DOES have ice water running through her veins....NO PASS.
Do you have dictionary?
Look up "irony"!
LOL
This article originally came out last June, and it’s the first I’ve heard of it. Apparently, the MSM quashed it right from the get-go.
Because it’s just not true. To be true, we need a ‘little’ touchup. Just a ‘little’ touch-up.
“Hillary Clinton, the Marxist party front to become the next American president, suffered serious bouts of paranoia and schizophrenia when she was the U.S. First Lady in 1994.”
“so I dont she mourned her fathers death.”
Aren’t lesbians generally considered to be ‘man-haters’?
Wouldn’t his death be removal of the last ‘restriction’ from parental authority?
I am sure she shed tears. Just like the ones Bill shed for Vince and Ron Brown.
Feigned humor— the last resort of the loser.
Giving up on a rational conversation with you in 3...2...1...
the “had” refers back to incidents that had happened, doesn’t say the incidents happened in ‘94, only that by late ‘94 they had cumulatively contributed to her depressed condition.
Given the wide exposure of all Berntein’s other books, it’ll be intersting to see how little this one will be touted on the networks.
“A CIC with mental problems should be an automatic disqualifier for the job”
Well that rules out Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.
Seriously, Hillary certainly belongs in jail along with her felonious hubby, but the fact that she gets depressed once in a while is the first evidence I’ve seen that she is actually human.
Another of Rush Limbaugh's favorite sayings:
Nothing that ever happens to the clintons is coincidence.
Correct. Health care finally failed in Sept 1994, Foster died July 1993.
Some seem to be equating life’s disappointments, let downs, set backs, etc., with depression. High school football playoffs are going on all over the nation.
Thousands of players were on losing teams last night. Most are very disappointed and let down, but they are not depressed.
We often use depression and disappointment almost as synonyms, but they are very different states of mind. I’m sure everyone knows this, but still we see the terms being used synonymously. If Hillary has suffered from depression, and especially if she’s been treated for it often, voters have a right to know.
Am I correct in thinking that she, like Slick, has refused to release her medical records? I believe I’ve read that, but am not positive.
Your rational conversation ended several posts back.
There was a time that the turned collar gave them the standing in the community they needed to bring their far-left issues into the mainstream.
The Berrigans were classic examples of this. Once the Vietnam was was over, one of them left the church and married a nun!
Whether is was simply a schoolgirl crush or something more serious, perhaps even physical, we will never know, and I certainly do not “j’accuse” here. But of course, the idea of a priest having a relationship with a young parishioner is nothing new.
