VIENNA, Va. - Democratic leaders voted Saturday to strip Michigan of all its delegates to the national convention next year as punishment for scheduling an early presidential primary in violation of party rules.
Michigan, with 156 delegates, has scheduled a Jan. 15 primary. Democratic Party rules prohibit states other than Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina from holding nominating contests before Feb. 5.
Florida was hit with a similar penalty in August for scheduling a Jan. 29 primary.
Michigan officials anticipated the action by the Democratic National Committee's rules panel. But Michigan Democratic Chairman Mark Brewer said before the vote that he didn't think the delegates would be lost for good. He expects the Democratic presidential nominee will insist the state's delegates be seated at the convention.

I like it - alienate your voters. The Democrats keep up these “brilliant” moves and they won’t have any voters left.
I’m not sure why these states chose to move their primaries up (other than wanting more attention from the candidates, and maybe a bit more perceived voice) - but to cut off their delegates.... Go for it, RATs!
I was thinking the same thing...this move would really tick off their voters and that would not be hard to do because they are pretty much offended by life anyway....
Still, it works for me......I say keep up the good work
Stripping of them of their delegates sounds good to me.Now if only California,New York,Massachusetts and Illinois could be stripped of theirs the RATS might not nominate a Communist next year.
What the Dems lose in voters they will easily make up with voter fraud.
Good time for Dunc to return and remind voters that he stands for American jobs.
That party believes in central control of everything!
The “Democratic leaders” get to decide who can vote and when they can vote?
Doesn’t sound very “democratic” to me.
Maybe the DNC should call in Hugo Chavez for advice on how to run an election.
These stories crack me up. They also reveal who the Dem party leaders really are at heart. Little dictators. You vill obey!
The “leaders” of BOTH parties have completely screwed up the process in Michigan. It’s shameful, and a gross disservice to the people.
Mark Brewer is a joke.
He harped on DeVos last year for meeting with Abramoff in 1999, and demanded that DeVos release pictures of that meeting. All while Norman Hsu was giving money to old Marky Boy and the Gransholm Bunch and eating breakfast with Debbie Stabenow.
Aren't the delegates the ones that say, "Mr speaker ... the state of -------------- casts all its votes for ------------ " ?
So, if this is something that is legal, we never had control over whom got elected for an office ... right?
And if the RATS can do this ... it establishes a precedent for the elimination of all elections, thus destroying the entire representative Republic form of government/elections we're supposed to have.
No wonder third worlders want to come here ... The USSA is just like home ... but with more land to destroy and money to squander.
The simpliest thing for the state to do....especially if they knew their primary winner wasn’t going to win....would be to stay home and just avoid the national party. It would be interesting to watch the national media explain why only 49 states showed up at the party convention.
This is great news. Piss off the MI voters and maybe MI will fall into the GOP column.
I agree.
What’s the point of the convention anyway? They have already chosen the she-beast, the rest is just cover to make the sheep think the elections are real.
Now if only California,New York,Massachusetts and Illinois could be stripped of theirs the RATS might not nominate a Communist next year.Where are they going to find a non-communist in their ranks? They'd have to ask the Republicans to lend them one.
I think they’re trying to knock out Obama...Dems rule with an iron fist - same thing to Florida. Funny how they portray themselves as being such “feeling” people - then you see them in action. More like Union dudes on the rag than middle aged soft focus Hollywood singers... is Barbra really working for Hillary? Strange world.
The DNC, CNN and the Clinton campaign will then select "undecided" Democrat delegates to be planted...I mean substituted, in place of the old delegates.
That's a thought I had as well. Has anyone seens polls from Michigan and/or Florida which suggest who is leading in those two states? Maybe Hilliary's strategy is, if you can't beat 'em, bar their delegates...
