It looks like Monkey-gate may be over. Earlier this week, Erin Burnett raised some eyebrows as she flippantly referred to President Bush as a "monkey" during Monday's broadcast of Morning Joe. The video on YouTube has over 60,000 views.
Today, on Hardball, she apologized to President Bush. "Earlier this week I was on MSNBC, on Morning Joe, and I made a bad attempt at humor...I said something stupid, I just want to make sure I apologize if I offended anyone. I do have the upmost respect for the President, I hope he has a great weekend, and Chris, I hope you do too," Burnett said.

I made a bad attempt at humor...I said something stupid, No, I watched it and it was NOT an attempt at humor, she was commenting.
Yes, it was stupid.................very stupid, profoundly unprofessional and moronic.

Oh, she apologised -- in case she offended anyone.
How about "I'm sorry." Period, full stop, done.
Her apology offends me.

After viewing the apology at OP’s link, I felt she was not sincere, but it was a forced apology, which was issued right at the last minute on today’s show as a ‘Oh, by-the-way’? But who really knows but her and God?

FYI. Apparently she issued ‘half’ an apology.

Is this the woman Rush Limbaugh always fawns over calling her the "street sweetie"? I hope she isn't. What a miserable pathetic excuse for a "street sweetie".

LOL
That’s the attitude of so many out there. That’s why we have the bimbos on tv that we do. Cute; but no brains or class.

Ah...but Sir Douglas...since the year of our Lord 2000, I have pledged not to discuss the matter of 'intent' with regard to political matters.
I'm sure you understand.

It took her 4 days to “apologize” ... To me, the funniest part of this whole story is that it took three of those four days for the story to get out. What exactly does it say when you say something monumentally stupid on a network news show and it isn’t even noticed until someone posts it on the web three days later?

The trouble here really, is that ehe media has convinced EVERYONE, that EVERYONE hates GW, and that it is ok to call him names, call for his death, whatever.
What these people don’t know, is that many of us don’t want to include ourselves with EVERYONE.
I thin GW has been a great president, and I refuse to listen to anyone, GOP included, that he’s some sort of lame, president.
IMHO, you haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about.

who, pray tell, is Erin Burnett? this week, compared to Chris ROck, almost anything she said has to be pretty mild.

She’s not cute. She’s smokin’ HOT.
But these days, apologies are worthless.
