Civil rights lawyer Stephen Yagman was sentenced on Tuesday to three years in federal prison after being convicted earlier this year on bankruptcy fraud and tax evasion.
U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson ordered Yagman, 63, a partner at Venice Beach, Calif.-based Yagman, Yagman & Reichmann, to begin serving his sentence on Jan. 15. He also sentenced Yagman to two years of supervised release after his prison term and ordered him to pay the government the costs of his prosecution.
Wilson said he imposed a "serious sentence" after being "shocked" by Yagman's testimony, which he called "so transparently untrue in so many areas," ...
Yagman is well known for having filed numerous civil rights suits against the Los Angeles Police Department over the years.
He also was among the first lawyers to file a suit on behalf of a detainee at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Space available in Guantanamo ?
Couldna happened to a nicer guy!
After all the crap he’s pulled in LA all these years, it’s nice to see that he’ll be rooming with “Bubba” real soon.
Like I’ve always said:
What goes around comes around.
(And you DESERVE it, you jerk!)
I presume this judge was a Cahtah or Klintoon appointee since he opted for the least of the available sentences; the perp will probably be given shock probation after 60 days. Maybe he’ll have to report to Lindsay Lohan twice per week.
It should have been 10 years.
For any LAPD posters or lurkers, a round of champagne.
This is the federal charge. Any chances of some state charges ?
Good!
Another die hard liberal bites the dust. I’ve exhausted my schadenfreude.

I don’t know that there are any state charges, but he obviously could have defrauded the Franchise Tax Board.
GTMO is too nice for him.
Well, son of a gun, there IS a God!
Judge saw some of his testimony as.. ‘transparently untrue’. 3 years? Good!
