Isn't this backwards? The MSM keeps trying to pretend the GOP is in decline, but Landrieu is just one of many Democrat incumbents in BIG trouble next election day.

This year, my friends in the Louisiana GOP, vote for the Kennedy. It’s important.

Here is a better idea. Get this guy to move to Massachusetts and take on the swimmer. Massachusetts democRATS are so dumb that they’ll think they are voting for one of their own.

When you get outside the New Orleans city limits, Louisiana is pretty Red.

Kennedy was a longtime Democrat who recently switched to the Republican party amid widespread speculation he would challenge Landrieu, a Democrat. This can be a very clear indicator of a RINO. Why should folks vote for a guy that was perfectly happy to be a democrat during a period when democrats were acting like absolute traitors?
For the life of me, I can't understand why any self-respecting citizens would remain in the democrat party. It still doesn't convince me they've go their head on straight if they change now though. I'd have to be convinced his beliefs were very good before I'd chance it.

Blue. Conservatives are true blue. Marxists are red Communists. I know this is a stickler, but I’m not red. I’ve never been red and I will never be red.

"Kennedy was a longtime Democrat who recently switched to the Republican party amid widespread speculation he would challenge Landrieu, a Democrat."I don't trust anyone who switches parties just to get the vote. He is a RINO. Republican in name only. So how much better off would they be with another Democrat other than Landrieu in office?

Yeah, I know. Television news invented the Blue-Red differentiation for their election maps.

You are correct but Baton Rouge is turning awfully blue.

Who else they got down there?
Jindal is the Gov, right?
If this RINO gets the seat I’ll bet he holds it forever, RINO or not. He may even decide to jump parties again once he beats Landrieu.
Afterall, he is a Kennedy.

I imagine a good number of people moved there from New Orleans after Katrina.

I’m not an expert on La politics or Kennedy, but from what I have read about Kennedy he is pretty conservative far more so than RINO poster children Specter or Collins. Kennedy was considered a DINO for a long time before he finally jumped over to the GOP. Think old fashion dem or “blue dog” democrat.

Red Flags going up! He definately deserves scrutiny, buy he doesn't deserve to be tossed under the bus just yet as some reactionaries on here are doing.
Remember people, Sen, Richard Shelby was a DEMOCRAT who switched to the Republican party in Alabama, and he has been one of are staunchest Conservative Senators his entire term.
Also, I believe there was a Republican President who once was a Democrat and switched parties. You might remember him, his name was Ronald Reagan.

"Kennedys move to the Democratic Party earlier this year was seen as a sign that he intended to take on Landrieu." My head is spinning. Did he move from the Republican Party to the Democrat Party like the above says or did he move from the Democrat Party to the Republican like this article says?

Thanks Brad. I’m glad you didn’t take that personally. I didn’t mean it that way.

I don’t know the guy. I’m just talking in general terms. Let’s hope he is a good guy. Either that or let’s hope a good guy jumps in.
