My daughter had trouble sleeping last night.
She brought home the latest issue of "GeoTrek", brought to us by The Weekly Reader. On the cover the lead story, "When Temperatures Are Leaving The Artic On Thin Ice". Of course, such an issue on climate "change" wouldn't be complete without pictures of those cute, cuddly polar bears.
People are entitled to their opinions, but one would hope that when disseminating information to grade schoolers, that information would be factually correct, not politically correct.

Dang. Now I’m wondering if they were lying all these years about Dick, Jane, and Spot.
Lenin correctly noted that by controlling children’s education you control the society. It is not a coincidence that public school teachers have, for 40 years, been drawn for their colleges’ bottom 1/4 in academics and top 1/4 in Marxist ideaology.
It’s bad enough my kid gets a copy of “Time for Kids” Ugh. This “GeoTrek” looks like it is right up Gore alley.
As a former teacher, now retired...I must say the Weekly Reader was becoming liberal fish-wrap back in the late 80’s. Who only knows how far it’s gone now...? it’s a shame really, it WAS an ok social studies source...
It really is a shame ... I’ve since taken it upon myself to NOT let my child be dumbed down.
