FReepin' in Bristol, NH/Operation Infinite FReep
Self | 11/28/07 | Self

Posted on 11/28/2007 8:50:10 PM PST by Little Bill

Our FRiend and fellow FReeper Past Your Eyes has been getting agrivated by Young, and not so young, fools burning candles at the side of the road and disparaging the efforts of out troops. So he asked us if we wanted to FReep them.

Because I, Little Bill, was the only one available I packed my Flags and headed Northwest to Bristol, NH. I arrived at 1830 and listend to Howie Carr while I waited for Eyes, it was cold, 28, and clear with no wind, the snow had melted, not a bad night.

Eyes showed up at 1900 and we passed the time while waiting for the commies to appear.

Their published start time was 1930 but as with commies every where there is a certain fashonable lateness that is expected. They were only 10 min late.

The four of them set up on the side walk in front of the State Liquor Store, we were across the street a good location with the exception of a burned out street light which lessened the contrast.

They setup their Peace Vigil Banner and several signs which were difficult to make out except for one that said 4 Years, 4195 and a dollar amount I couldn't make out. Then then lit cute little candles in containers and huddled against the cold.

The traffic was light but steady and we got a goodly share of honks and waves, a nice quiet little FReep.

We broke up at 2030, Patriots: Past Your Eyes, Little Bill .

I tried to get a couple of pics but there was not enough light.

I wish we could get enough active so that we could hit more of these things.

Good job!

This will sound harsh and cold to some, but in the history of warfare, 4,195 men in four years is nothing.

Britain lost over 19,000 on the first day at the Battle of the Somme, a battle that killed over 1 million men in 141 days.

Spain lost 5,000 in one day at the Battle of the Armada in 1588.

4,195 men is about 1% of what we lost in WWII. It is about a third as many men as we lost in three months taking Okinawa. It is 800 less than the number of sailors lost in Okinawa’s waters during the fighting there.

And in perhaps the greatest hypocrisy of all for the libs who congregate at these displays of dishonor, it is about a days toll in the abortion clinics of this nation that they say are so essential to our freedom.

“This will sound harsh and cold to some,”

Not at all.

At Normandy on D-Day allied forces lost some 4800 men the first day!!..my numbers may be slightly off, but it was a GREAT amount of men!!

Freedom is not cheap!! God Bless each and everyone of them!!

In Tucson where we sometimes mingle I was debating a sandwich-signed moonbat on the day the terrorists reached the 2000 Americans killed mark (a big day for liberals.) I explained how Communist regimes (which she supported) killed over 100 million people in the 20th Century.

"It's not about the math," she pouted.

"Apparently it is to you, since you are wearing a sign with numbers," I rejoined.

Sounds like a great FReep, Little Bill and Past Your Eyes! Thanks for being there!

You're a hard worker, Bill.

Went down to MA for Thanksgiving and stayed at a s-i-l's new place at Salisbury Beach. I took morning drives almost every day checking out the changes through the North Shore and southern Rockingham County NH. In fact on Friday I came this || close to riding up to Rochester to see if you guys were around, but time constraints forced me to curtail that little trip.

Anyway, I saw two Edwards signs on Rt. 107, one Hillary sign in an orchard in the middle of nowhere and strangely enough, no Obama signs.

I don't know what upcountry looks like, but it appeared to me that Rockingham Co. couldn't care less about the Dem primary.

Great news from NH. Thanks for being out there, especially in the cold.

How far are you from the Litchfield area?

LB, you done wore me out. I got home and just about went straight to bed. Thanks for making the effort to come up here. There was a 5th person who joined the comlibsissies part way through their “vigil”.
I’m going to call PSNH and tell them how disappointed I am that that light was out on our side of the road. I’m sure they’ll get right on it!
Signs are getting more numerous every day. I don’t see a lot of Obama signs up here. Quite a lot of Hillary (some of them are HUGE), Romney, once in a while Edwards, Dodd, even Richardson. Just lately Huckaby signs are around. In the little traffic island at the light, there was one Romney and one Huckaby sign. But the most numerous by far are Ron Paul signs “:^/
Litchfield is way down south somewhere near Nashua and the Peoples’ Republik of Massivetushes isn’t it? Not sure I’ve ever been there on purpose.
Saturday in Plymouth? I can if you will.

The thing you have to remember that going from East to West in NH can be a wondrous adventure, all narrow two lane roads for the most part. The posted Speed is around 45 but the accepted speed is 55+. It is around 65 miles from my house to Bristol is in miles about 65 in time an hour and a half to two hours.

About cold, where Eyes lives when it gets above thirty-two for a couple of weeks, average it is spring.

Nice work, LB.

I work with a great guy - recently retired Army captain. He gave me the below statistics on military casualties. The point is that military service is hazardous, and there are casualties in peacetime and in wartime, which the Sheehan types seem to overlook (or be blissfully unaware of). Here are the numbers, and below is the source.

***

Deaths in the Military
1980 .......... 2,392
1981 ......... 2,380
1982 .......... 2,318&n bsp;
1983 .......... 2,465
1984 .......... 1,999
1985 .......... 2,252
1986 ......... 1,984
1987 .......... 1,983
1988 ......... 1,819
1989 .......... 1,636
1990 .......... 1,508
1991 ......... 1,787
1992 .......... 1,293
1993 ......... 1,213
1994 .......... 1,075
1995 .......... 1,040
1996 ............974
1997 .............817
1998 ............826
1999 .............795
2000 .............774
2001 ............890
2002 .......... 1,007
2003 ......... 1,410 [534*]
2004 .......... 1,887 [900*]
2005 .......... [919*]
2006 .......... [920*]

Figures so noted with an asterisk (*) indicates deaths as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring&nbs p;Freedom.
- The latest census shows the following breakdown on who is dying :

European descent (white) ... 69.12%
Hispanic .... 12.5%
African American ..... 12.3%
Asian .... 3.7%
Native American .... 1.0%
Other ..... 2.6%

The fatalities over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom are:

European descent (white) ....74.31%
Hispanic.....10.74%
African American ... 9.67%
Asian ..... 1.81%
Native American ....1.09%
Other .... 2.33%

These statistics are published by DOD and may be viewed at: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf

And we thought it was bad at Walter Reed during January and February.

Eyes’ temps and our troops in the mountains of Afghanistan is what keeps us going.

Good job, Little Bill. I know Bristol pretty well, as I own property up there, and I’m shocked as sh*t to learn there’s still activity up there this time of year! You mean the whole town doesn’t shut down after Labor Day?

Hey Ghost, I had a hard time finding any locals that even knew about this weekly peace freak demonstration. Even the police chief barely admitted it.
Place is pretty dead this time of the year. You up on Newfound Lake? I live farther north...up in the mountains, 20 miles north of Plymouth.

I haven't been in Bristol since 1964, the traffic was light. Eyes is a Looooooooong time North Country Native, in the sense that if he isn't related to them, he went to school with them, or knows most of their families, I exaggerate of course.

As a Marine Corps Alum he is kind of pissed at these people, in a subdued Yankee kind of way. By the way how are things in West Haverhill, Bradford, LOL.

Yep---we have a summer shanty not too far from the Big Snatch. 'Tis beautiful country up there, my friend.
