Quote of the Day:
President Bush: It's very important for the international community to support these two leaders during the bilateral negotiations that will take place. And one thing I've assured both gentlemen is that the United States will be actively engaged in the process, that we will use our power to help you, as you come up with the necessary decisions to lay out a Palestinian state that will live side by side in peace with Israel.

I cannot thank you all enough for the prayers. It means a lot to me and Laura. One of the most amazing aspects of the presidency is to meet total strangers, and they say; I pray for you. They dont say, I need a road or a bridge. They say, I pray for you, Mr. President. Thank you.~ George W. Bush, quoted in Bill Sammons The Evangelical President
hi
hi
Caller: I'd like to say that President Clinton, well, the formerly impeached-for-lying president, should put his money where his mouth is, and he should match what you put into the Marine Corps fund, if he's really not lying. He's the liar. Hillary Clinton, from the floor of the House, literally regurgitated word-for-word what the impeached president was saying about Iraq. She said it from the Senate floor. She lied about everything, and accuses the president of being a liar. And for people like [Bill] Clinton, just a disgraced person, it beguiles me to hear him speak in any ill form of our current president, because he is ten times the man, stature and grace that Clinton could have ever been. Clinton wishes at night that he was like President Bush.
I met President Bush down in Boca Grand, Florida, where I got the pleasure of shaking his hand and looking straight in his eye, and let me tell you something, that man is not a liar, he's never lied. And for these people to call him that just goes through me, especially when my nephews are serving under him and all their buddies that are there with them in Iraq.
Thank You! Thank you for the Dose!
President Bush: Mr. Prime Minister, thank you; Mr. President. A series of successful meetings today with these leaders. Yesterday was an important day, and it was a hopeful beginning. No matter how important yesterday was, it's not nearly as important as tomorrow and the days beyond.I appreciate the commitment of these leaders to working hard to achieve peace. I wouldn't be standing here if I didn't believe that peace was possible, and they wouldn't be here either if they didn't think peace was possible.
And so I wish you all the best. I appreciate your courage and leadership. It's an honor to call you friends. And it's an honor to have watched you yesterday as you laid out your respective visions for something we all want, which is peace in the Holy Land.
Thank you very much.

PRESIDENT BUSH MET WITH CONSERVATIVE WRITERS TODAY:
READING BUSH
Meeting a confident, fluid president.
By Rich Lowry & Kate OBeirne
A President Bush who pronounced himself as feeling pretty upbeat about life these days met with conservative journalists in the Oval Office Wednesday afternoon.
He gave an optimistic report on progress in Iraq, outlined his hopes for the Middle East peace process following the Annapolis summit, and expressed his resolve on three key issues facing Congress when its back in town: He ruled out raising taxes, emphatically insisted that Congress must fund our troops in harms way, and described Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reauthorization as crucial.

THE JOY OF BUSH
He’d do it again if he could.
by Fred Barnes
PRESIDENT BUSH SAYS the presidency is still “a joyous experience” for him. “People ask if I would do it again. I would.” And one reason for his upbeat mood in talking to a dozen journalists Wednesday is progress in Iraq, including revenue sharing by the central government with the provinces. Another is the beginning of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, though Bush cautioned that the creation of a Palestinian state won’t come any time soon

OIL DROPS SHARPLY ON INVENTORY REPORT
By JOHN WILEN, AP Business Writer
NEW YORK - Oil’s rise to $100 a barrel, which seemed a done deal as recently as two days ago, was dealt a severe blow Wednesday when the government reported an increase in supplies at the Nymex delivery terminal in Cushing, Okla., which is closely watched by traders as a benchmark of oil inventory tightness.
