Saw a Visa debit card ad the other day. You know the one, everyone happy in line as they make purchases until some dolt uses cash and crashes the well-oiled machine. As I was watching one of these I’d never seen before I saw young women and blacks making their purchases. I immediately thought to myself, “Okay which white guy is going to be the dolt who uses cash?” Sure enough, two seconds later the white guy is the only dolt in the vast crowd who crashes the system by using cash. I just knew it would NEVER be a black guy or a woman who would be used.

They do it to black males too. When there is a black family in the commercial, there has to be a dupe, and it ain't gonna' be the kids or the woman. I see it all the time.

Meh...four out of five dentists, er, muggers will tell you to target the White Guy™ cuz he's the one carrying cash. Apparently nobody has talked to our criminal element about the "evils" and "ineffectiveness" of profiling.

Perhaps the director's cut of the commercial has Chez Whitey getting his wallet ganked outside the store.

My wife and daughter both work in retail and tell me that there's a lot of truth in that ad, except that cash doesn't crash the party - checks do, because of the slow, tedious way they have to verify them.
