The item properly added to the title yesterday was factually correct, as is this title.
Yesterday you called a freeper a liar for telling the truth, and did so repeatedly one would presume out of concern that fellow freepers would be “confused” by the lying headline.
Today, nothing.
One could suspect either that you know it isn’t a lie to repeat the ranking in a poll, which I suspect you do, or that you simply don’t want to correct a lie if it helps your candidate.
But I make neither charge, only that your actions yesterday and today are in contradiction.
You may explain the contradiction however you like. To me it looks like you just wanted to attack a fellow freeper because of who he supports, rather than caring about the truth.
If you cared about the truth, you would consistantly interpret the truth and consistantly educate other freepers on your truth.
Surely you aren’t saying that freepers don’t correct headlines when the are false. We do that all the time, and I bet I could find an example where you corrected a headline that falsely maligned your candidate.
The real value of endorsements like NRA and NRL, in a crowded field like this, isn’t in the announcement of them, but in the communications with membership, and the work the organization does on the ground (mailers, door-knocking, radio spots, etc.).
If there’s going to be a benefit at all, it’s going to show up later.
One name...
John Cox
I am a pro-life voting republican for 30 years and have NEVER heard such as you are accussing...NEVER...and not here at FR either...and you get your info from “pundits” and “show hosts”...You should know better.
I was ONCE a pro-abort democrat (a volunteer in Al Gore’s daddy’s headquarters)...so I know the other side...it is THEY who call people scum, etc.
We do have a qaundry on our hands...not voting for the GOP nominee will assure the party of hate, wealth confiscation, gutting of the military, and vote buying with ever increasing welfare give-aways will lead us to doom...and abortion marches on...
Mr. Huckabee was the only GOP candidate to refuse to endorse President Bush's veto of the Democrats' bill to vastly expand the Schip health-care program. Only he and John McCain have endorsed the discredited cap-and-trade system to limit global-warming emissions that has proved a fiasco in Europe. http://www.opinionjournal.com/diary/?id=110010782
You are right...still early...a co-worker said to me today “Huckabee is up in Iowa...I thought you said he can’t win.”
I replied, “McCain won New Hampshire last time...is he president?”
It just shows what BS the Iowa Caucus is. Huckabee is a nobody in just about every state outside of Arkansas. Yeah, let’s put a former minister in the White House. This guy may win Iowa, shame on Iowa Republicans, but when he goes to the other states where real primaries are held, he will disappear quicker than snow in 60 degree temperatures.
Huckabee leads thanks to Giuliani and FoxNews.
But, if Romney and others can’t overcome it, then it’s not my fault. It’s their ability to campaign.
It was false, and knowingly so.
Yesterday you called a freeper a liar for telling the truth...
Nope. It was not true. It was a lie.
One could suspect either that you know it isnt a lie to repeat the ranking in a poll
It was a statistical tie. The addition to the headline ("tied for last among frontrunners") was a lie.
There's no addition to today's headline beyond an identifier of the source (which is accurate).
If you cared about the truth, you would consistantly interpret the truth and consistantly educate other freepers on your truth.
Wow, you can't be oblivious to the distinction between yesterday's headline (with it's lying addition) and today's (no lies), can you? No one is THAT stupid.
“One could suspect either that you know it isnt a lie to repeat the ranking in a poll, which I suspect you do, or that you simply dont want to correct a lie if it helps your candidate.
But I make neither charge, only that your actions yesterday and today are in contradiction.”
I read the thread yesterday that you’re referring to. I agree there seems to be a contradiction, but I think it’s just that people are “Super Charged” about their candidate, and tend to get sucked into sports fan mentality.
I’ve seen supporters of each candidate do that, IMHO the FDT supporters have amped this up over the last few weeks. I guess it could be a natural reaction to FDT not seeming to get traction.
Yep!

Ping to post #90. Petronski is being optimistic again. :)
I don’t feel comfortable with all the condemnation because I feel I’m on your (and all of us here, including those pundits and talk shows), side, even if some don’t feel they are on mine.
Like it or not, rarely does one have an election without an attitude of “lesser of evils”.
It would be a blessing to have at least one election in ones lifetime to feel proud about. And I feel lucky to have had one with RR, and another a little less with GWB because of his age (I prefer older men for Pres) and “compassionate” conservatism.
So maybe we should be counting our blessings and battling against the UnAmerican MSM/DNC for a change?
Yup, the MSM is jumping on any bandwagon besides Thompson, or even Rudy. Being rather shallow, they were afraid Thompson could beat Hillary. With Rudy, worst case, we have a liberal Republican president that alienates the conservative base.
They’ve touted Ron Paul, Huckabee, sometimes McCain. Presdient Huckabee? It won’t happen.
Letting the MSM choose the Republican nominee is like letting the opposing manager pick your starting pitcher.
It would be hard to be worse than Bush on illegal immigration, but Huckabee is the man who can do it.
I’m making that my tagline
Righto!
Optimism is great. Problem. Its wasted on posters who are inflicted with rhetorical diarrhea. ;^)
You should have told Mitt Romney this. It would have saved a ton of money.
I just do get why Iowa and New Hamp get to choose who should be our presidential choices.
