Yup, the MSM is jumping on any bandwagon besides Thompson, or even Rudy. Being rather shallow, they were afraid Thompson could beat Hillary. With Rudy, worst case, we have a liberal Republican president that alienates the conservative base.

They’ve touted Ron Paul, Huckabee, sometimes McCain. Presdient Huckabee? It won’t happen.

Letting the MSM choose the Republican nominee is like letting the opposing manager pick your starting pitcher.

I don’t think this is the case, however. Huckabee has a way of resounding from the stage with many people; that is what has gotten him the support he has. For religious conservatives, his boost is certainly related to his background, but he also speaks with a frankly populist tone that people enjoy regardless of his stand on some issues. This does not make him the perfect candidate, but it sure makes him electable in a face-off against someone who makes people think of fingernails on a chalkboard.

It all comes down to the Supreme Court for many conservatives (I am expect two appointments in the next four years), and he brings no visible negatives on that score...
