In that scenario, I would have to go with Rudy. Now is the time to iron out the differences and bash the candidates. Once it is decided. The time comes to band together - lest we want her Thighness. Personally, Rudy seems a whole lot better than anyone on the RATS side.

I just don’t know why none of the TRUE conservatives (Hunter, Tancredo) are not polling that well.

I just saw the title here and don't have the time this minute to go through all the replies.....but......

I hope this is true. If Huckelberry finishes first, that helps Fred immensely for couple of reasons (as long as he finishes in the top four).

I don’t even need to read the article. The headline and the author says it all.

But today, nothing. Like your outrage was not at all based on fact or principle, but simply a ploy to attack someone who supported another candidate.

You don't see the difference, do you?

LOL, you really don't. Okay, I'll help.

Yesterday I protested the lie added to the title by the poster. Nothing of an editorial nature was added to this title, certainly nothing demonstrably false as was the case yesterday.

Sorry your big "Perry Mason gotcha moment" didn't work out there, CW. Next time think it through.

“A wartime President is mandatory, imo, whether it be RG, FT, DH, and lastly JM.”

Lastly JM?? Are you cooking meth in your trailer?

How would it help Thompson? If Huckabee emerges as a viable candidate it would hurt him as much as Romney, while it would help Giuliani by further splitting the vote. The primary are stacked so closely that by the time Huckabee's momentum slowed down much damage would already be done. Huckabee's time in the spotlight has to be curtailed by Iowa, IMO, for Thompson to have a chance.

The Iowa caucuses mean little to Republican politics.

Dude, you are the one who is delusional, if that be a favorite descriptor that you seem to throw around injudiciously. Where in that simple declarative sentence, does it mention New Hampshire? You can read ALL my posts, and you would be right if you said that I have denigrated the Iowa Caucuses. But I challenge you to find one post where I denigrated the primary of your great state of New Hampshire. New Hampshire has always been a very key state in the nominating process. I suggest that you either lay off the apple jack in the mornings or take a reading comprehension course, because you are making attributions to me that I did not make or even infer.

What happens if....( and it very well could)

Huckster wins Iowa

Rooty wins NH

Ron Paul wins MI ( Its because all the RATS cross-over)

Fred wins SC

......?

IMHO Romney would be out of the race

There are so many running, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Is Buchanan a candidate again this year? How about Bauer? or Hatch? Oh wait, this year we have Tancredo, Hunter and Brownback. Or did one of them drop out?

The reality is that except for Huckabee, the “second tier” candidates have made little movement in the polls in the last nine months. As much as I like Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter, we are no more likely to see either of them nominated than we were last year.

LOL, I know, I know, I don’t trust him on much since he rarely sides with conservatives, and I would never know what he would say day to day, but I guess if he is nominated, as CIC he would at least want to win overseas.

Winning at home tho, it is a different story.

When Iowa’s caucus is competitive, it is important (like with Kerry, Dean, and Edwards in 2004). It is competitive this year for both the Dems and the GOP (if Obama is still either leading or competing heavily in 2nd place). The compressed primary calendar makes these states even more important because the headlines out of these two contests will still be very fresh when the wave of new voting happens shortly thereafter— there won’t be a cooling off effect.

“In a fitting end to the weekend, the last question that Romney took was to the point: ‘”What would he say to someone who wanted to support Giuliani because the former mayor was more likely to defeat Hillary Rodham Clinton in a general election?”

‘”I don’t think he can,”‘ Romney answered to applause.”

‘”I think to beat Hillary you’ve got to be different than Hillary……You’ve got to be pro-life, and you have to be anti-illegal immigration, and you have to be pro-family, and you have to have high ethical standards in the history of your administration. You have to stand up and say you are different. I just don’t think we can win the White House and defeat Hillary Clinton by acting like Hillary Clinton.”‘

That’s the kind of talk that will win this election. If I wanted to see Hillary Clinton’s policies enacted, I’d vote for Giuliani ---[or Huckabee]. ~~ComMITTed2Romney John Cronin

Correct! And that could also happen.

In what I laid out, if you exchange Romney for Rooty in NH they would both be crippled or dead going into Fla.

An NRA endorsement would be interesting, but I have yet to see any endorsement that swung the polls for any candidate so far this year. The NRTL was supposed to be the “BIG” one, yet it didn’t move Fred at all.
