NEW YORK. Senator Edward Kennedy, the elder statesman of the US political clan scarred so often by tragedy, is to publish his memoirs in a deal reportedly worth eight million dollars, AFP reports.
The reported advance would vault the younger brother of president John F. Kennedy to the top ranks of high-earning US political diarists, including former president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary.
"I've been fortunate in my life to grow up in an extraordinary family and to have a front-row seat at many key events in our nation's history," the 75-year-old Kennedy said in a statement.
"I hope my reflections can contribute to a deeper understanding of many events in the history of this great country and to a more in-depth picture of an American family," the Massachusetts senator said.
What about the Kopechne family? No tragedy there, right, AFP?
That’s a lot of swimming lessons....
"I should have bought a Volkswagen instead of an Oldsmobile."
NO Memoir’s FOR OIL !!!!!!!
LOL, “When I returned, Mary-Jo and the car were gone...”
Much like the Goldman’s, how much of the swimmer’s book deal revenues go to the Kopechne family?
Remind me, what happened when Newt got an advance on his book?
His “career” was on the peoples dime. He should be forced to give it all to charity.
This so called senator is not worth comments.
1st job in his life and it’s a ghost writer and an inside contract.
what did happen? didn’t he have to reduce his advance?
how come the clintons and teddy can’t get huge advances and not be accused of “special interest”?
Are people still that interested in the Kennedy’s?
Maybe.
I certainly wouldn’t buy the book.
Yep, ol pork barrel (pork barrel in the political sense) Ted can be expected to tell the truth so his legacy will be assured. /s
hahahaaa ... you been listening to those old David Frye records again :)
No, it's worth about 39 cents. He got PAID 8 million dollars...
How many pages will he dedicate to the words “glug glug glug glug splash glug glug glug . . . ?”
How many should he?
