Nice quick guide.

I used to do it that way, but limited myself to only doing a few things.  I got tired of typing all of the <p> or <br> breaks and then I found that if I did straight typing but also intentionally misspelled a word and did a spell check the spell correction process would insert all of the basic HTML.  Then I just went back and added that one or two additional tags I wanted.

Then I started mostly using Firefox as my main browser and early last year someone here on FR posted a thread about the Xinha Here! plug in.

For my weekend preview thread or anything else big I do all of the prep offline in Frontpage 2003 and then copy and paste to do the post.

Now I struggle if I have to go back and remember the tags to do it manually. <g>

The USA is smart enough to never discount any enemy, but that picture of the Chinese sub looks like a piece of junk.

But then, the Chinese can do a lot of damage with Junk.

Hmmm. Looks a lot like a Delta class, but maybe better streamlined. They weren’t known for being quiet and those flow-ports won’t help.

Wow one boomer,I AM SO IMPRESSED, versus our what two, three dozen or so found the USN inventory. No I don’t have a number. You know guys the more I research what it takes to have a true modern military I find only very few can really afford it. Only the EU, if it ever had a military of its own with all nations contributing, and the USA are the only ones capable of building such a military. China builds up one part of its military and falls behind on other parts, and parity with us still decades away, if achievable at all. Russia is even worse off. Israel has the tech to develop large,medium and small high technology weapons platforms, but not nearly the tax base or the economy to do so. Although it’s worth noting that the US is borrowing it way to a better social safety net and a robust armed forces. We stand at the greatest debtor nation probably of all time, certainly in the world now. Face it guys modern military technology may have become to expensive to afford even by richest nations, war might have just priced itself right out of the market.

Those open hatches. Is that where you put the baking soda?

No, those are escape hatches.... 8~)

An important question is just how quiet this boat is. Can the Chi-Coms say "ASROC?" I thought they could....

The forward sonar gizmo (?) likely would contribute to a noise signature....

Well, they were little white pill shaped objects, and I assume you are correct.

Dunno, I vaguely remember baking soda didn’t work, and we had to get baking powder, something I’d never heard of before.

What is baking powder and how does it work?

If you have read How Bread Works, then you understand how the release of carbon dioxide by yeast can cause bread to rise. Many recipes, however, use no yeast. Things like muffins, biscuits, cakes and cookies usually use baking powder instead.

Baking powder is normally made of three different parts:

* An acid
* A base
* A filler of some sort

All three need to be dry powders that can be mixed together. For example, baking soda (a base), cream of tartar (an acid) and corn starch (the filler) are three common ingredients.

In school, you may have done the experiment where you mix baking soda (a base) and vinegar (an acid) and get a bubbling reaction. Baking powder works the same way. When you add water to baking powder, the dry acid and base go into solution and start reacting to produce carbon dioxide bubbles.

* Single-acting baking powder produces all of its bubbles when it gets wet.
* Double-acting baking powder produces bubbles again when it gets hot.
