A year later, Gap continues to censor Christmas
At Gap, the score is "holiday" 172 and "Christmas" 3
At Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic, Christmas hardly exists. For these three companies, all owned by Gap, the only items listed as having anything to do with Christmas were a pair of boxer shorts and a child's sleepwear set.
Last year, when Gap also censored Christmas, we contacted the company. The company refused to change their policy of censoring Christmas. This year the company has continued their practice of censoring Christmas from their stores and promotions. The only conclusion one can reach is that Gap will continue to censor Christmas, a Christian holy day.
Last year an Old Navy store manager was asked if the word "Christmas" was used in his store, he answered: "We have a lot of Christmas gifts in our stores, but the word 'Christmas' is not used here. Everything is 'holiday'."
A search of Old Navy's website shows only the two references to Christmas, the boxer shorts and a child's sleepwear set. There were 25 results in a search for "holiday" for the San Francisco based company, including a "Holiday Gift Guide".
A search of Banana Republic found no reference to "Christmas." Everything is "holiday." While Christmas scored a 0, holiday scored 41
At Gap there was a single reference to Christmas--the boxers. Gap offered 56 holiday items. However, Gap did offer video greetings called "Happy Chrismukkah" and "Merry Christmas Gaptidings."
Take Action! Send your e-mail to Gap letting the company know that there are those who still recognize Christmas even if it doesn't. After you have sent your e-mail, be sure to follow up with a phone call. Be polite. Ask Gap if they will reconsider their policy of censoring Christmas. The toll-free number is 1-800-427-7895. The company number is 650-952-4400. Send your e-mail to Gap Forward this to friends and family and urge them to send the e-mail to Gap.

Ah, now we get to the heart of the matter.
Death to Banana Republic!
Death to Old Navy!
Long live Christmas!
This is the copy of the e-mail that came to me and many others in the last hour. Decided to post it knowing it is very important.
I don’t care if they use the word “Christmas.” There’s enough Jews who celebrate Hanukkah that the generic term “Holidays” is appropriate.
Please take to the phones and the e-mails.........
I quit shopping at these stores since last yr’s no Christmas.
I wasn’t going to shop there, anyway.
THe strangest is google.
On their home page, they have altered logos for every day of note imaginable, except Christmas and Easter.
If Christians, and I am a Christian, are so concerned about the lack of attention Christmas is getting from retailers, then maybe we should celebrate it when we are supposed to.
I Called the 800 no., the phone rep was courteous and admitted the word Christmas was not in any of their stores due to the “many ethnicities”. I stopped her, uh, what 85% of America does Christmas???
I could hear it in her voice she knew I wasn’t setting foot in any of their stores. But she was sweet and honest. And I kindly told her that.
I don’t know a single Jew who objects to the use of “Christmas”
Christmas is not a time to push a political agenda, but rather a time to celebrate and reflect on the birth of our Savior, who died for all man’s sins.
It is also strange that those who wish to mock Christ and reject the word Christmas use “Holiday” instead. Holiday means Holy Day. Holy means sanctified and set apart by God.
I don't think He promised Merry Christmas signs in the heathen stores that push whore fashions on our daughters.
If He did, it's not in my Bible.
Mine says He promised that the world would hate you.
I was in Staples the other day looking for wrapping paper.
Every one was “holiday” or snowflakes, but they did have “Happy Hannukah”
I sure am glad we have people around with enough time on their hands to worry about inane things like this.
It’s such a relief.
They do have one on Christmas. It’s secular not religious. Just like the date December 25th has nothing to do with Christianity, but was stolen from the Romans.
At the public high school where my mom works, they are forbidden from using the word “Christmas.”
Hannukah, Kwanza, Ramadan, etc are all ok, except for Christmas.
AMEN!!!!!!!
