Several types of flying craft we would call flying saucers were built by the Germans during the Second World War. The exact number is still open for debate but it certainly must vary from between three to seven or possibly eight different types. What is meant here is that there were very different lines of flying saucers being built in wartime Germany at different places by different groups of people. We will progress from saucer projects which are factually better known and which deal in conventional propulsion methods and then move to lesser known projects which deal in more exotic propulsion methods which are less well documented and so more controversial...
I figured you'd get as much of a kick out of mocking Ron Paul as I did!
Yes, and we have similarly ‘detailed’ designs for ships to fly to alpha centauri. It is just not that hard to sketch up something vaguely feasible but far from currently constructable. There were ideas for nuclear rockets in the 30s and 40s too but it was not until the 60 and 70 before nuclear rocket engines were able to be built (and then proved to be impractical). Yes it is impressive that they dreamed stuff up, but not THAT impressive.

I do, but it looks creepy to see my name sandwiched within Ron Paul kookburgers. Still too close to Halloween for me I guess.
I heard Spacely Sprockets was working on that project.
Ha! Ha! I forgot about the Moeller Skycar. Still waiting for the first flight for more than 20 years. Current stock price: $.81 share. Huckster.
Much of this stuff was just lines-on-paper, meaning no serious effort was made to bring this stuff online. Propulsion, electronics & material science weren't up to the task. It's like Leonardo DaVinci's drawing of a crude tank - so what? If you don't have the materials that are strong & light enough to build one, and if you don't have precision machining to build the drive mechanism, then it's all pie-in-the-sky.
Unbeliever!
