Isn’t that Leisure World?
Yep. "Laguna Woods" is the upscape senior retirement community in south Orange County formerly known as "Leisure World."
How do I get past the gate?
I will confirm, and get back to you -- but I think that you just have to give them the right password at the gate. :o)

I think that the password for this event is:
"I'm with FRED!"

Fred’s stature went up for me today. Grover Norquist doesn’t like him.

Here is a short excerpt rom LAST MONTH (October 26, 2007) in www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs:
...Thompson's official campaign statement this morning:
"Out of respect for the families in Southern California who have suffered devastation from the California wildfires, Sen. Fred Thompson is postponing his events in those counties..."

I will confirm, and get back to you - RonDog

I have confirmed that this **is** a public event...
...and that you only have to identify yourself at the entry gate...
...and tell them that you are here to see Fred Thompson, Tom McClintock and Chuck DeVore.

While he’s on the West Coast I sure wish he would take a trip up to Washington. Conservative KVI radio host Kirby Wilber is a major Fred supporter and has been trying to get Thompson on his program for a long time, but with no luck.

Fred needs to understand, the West Coast republicans have not really latched on to a candidate yet. Now is the time to grab us.

I will work on getting your message to the right people.
This is the first time that I have talked with anyone from the Thompson campaign.
I understand that they are expecting HUNDREDS of FredHeads to be at this event on Saturday morning in southern California.

Ah, Tom McClintock... A man who knows first-hand what it’s like to have a RINO with some name recognition seize the lead and ruin the entire government. Especially since the arguments that we should support Rudy are the same arguments given that we should support Arnie - he’s conservative *enough*.

Which, of course, was a disasterous lie. Given that he only beat McClintock by 10%, if that lie had not been told Arnie might never have set foot in the Governor’s office.

I’m sure all the FR FRedheads will be looking forward to a report on the event. I hope it exceeds all expectations.

I am not (yet) a hard core FRedhead...
...but I still feel bad for not supporting Tom McClintock in the Recall election here in California a few years ago...
...where we replaced an incompetant Democrat (Gray Davis) with a RINO (Arnold) who was supposed to be "soft on social issues, but solid on all of our OTHER issues."
Sound familiar?
Fool me once, shame on you, etc.
For now, I plan to follow what Tom McClintock does very closely...
...and HE has endorsed FRED.

Yes McClintock has endorsed Fred and I think he has done so for good reasons. Perhaps you will come to the same conclusion in the weeks to come.

Anyway, if you will be there, we’d love a first hand report.

I will be the one with a big sign that says something like THIS:

THAN
ALL THOSE OTHER GUYS.

I will be there.
My current plan is to recruit some OTHER FReeper to actually post the "after-action" thread, though...
...but I will do my best to PROMOTE that report.
And, it would be REALLY nice if we could get someone to take DIGITAL PICTURES of this rally -- to post online here. (hint, hint)
