No they are spiritually dead because they don’t believe that Jesus is fully God. The belief that Jesus is fully Man but NOT fully God is what defines liberal theologians.
The consequence of this theology is that the church is robbed of all power but what men can gin up. That ain’t much. So the people leave. After all, who wants to worship a dead man. Even more creepy— a human sacrifice.
Every liberal protestant church in America is losing its congregation.

The muslims must be laughing up their sleeves Of course. The moslem letter was a transparent act of jihad, intended to intimidate, to induce propitiation, and ultimately submission.
