Detectives investigating the disappearance of missing British girl Madeleine McCann are close to concluding she was killed the night she vanished after her abductor panicked when the child screamed, the London Daily Mail reported Monday.
Portuguese police are reportedly considering clearing the girl's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, of wrongdoing in in the mystery, which has garnered worldwide attention.

Another day, another theory. How sad, and we might never know what really happened.
Those police over there have believed a number of different things. To heck with them.

First, you gotta be careful who’s doing the sourcing with this kind of thing.
This entire scenario was published in a Portuguese newspaper with not one police source identified. Just the very vague...”now police are re-examing the possibility...” then on to the scenario of the guy breaking into the apartment, getting startled, then running off with the girl.
You will note that the female friend of the parents, a Tanner I think, said she saw a man running off with a child in his arms.
This scenario was created just to fit Maddy’s disappearance into that time line. I’m betting this Tanner woman provided this alleged police tangeant. The police have probably thought of every scenario under the sun so to say that police are now considering....it’s just a meaningless phrase.
So as another commenter upthread said...we’re to believe this child predator broke into Maddy’s house intending to...what? Molest her in the apartment, then leave? Abduct her but was interuppted, as the Portuguese newspaper speculates, by Maddie awakening?
So the so-called “new” line of investigation fits the timeline of this Tanner woman friend of the parents happened to see a man rushing passed with a child in his arms. My bet is that this man was probably carrying his own child, goodness there’s been plenty of mistakes about people with children in connection with this case.
I think the McCanns did it.
Don’t forget that Maddie’s two siblings were in that apartment. If you’re going to swipe a child you gonna take a chance that all those kids will wake up?
I just don’t buy that Maddie was abducted...I think they accidentally killed the child with too much medicine.

I was thinking how this will remind everyone about what can happen if you have a tragedy in a foreign country... and then you had to go and remind me of JonBenet. So nevermind.
These investigators, and I use the term loosely, make Inspector Clouseau look like Sherlock Holmes.

Really, this is just one of dozens of different ‘conclusions’ they are supposed to have reached.
The way the media has handled this is as bad as the police have.
It’s difficult to know what to believe.
