Curious.
This was Breaking News (sidebar) for a few moments.
I guess it isn’t Breaking News any more.

Hah! He was a mess on immigration. Interesting about his brother-in-law.
Maybe it’s just the 2 year wait to lobby..

I didn't post this thread as Breaking News...maybe they removed the duplicated threads...which were (correctly) posted that way...

Moving rino Trent out should be considered a plus.Speaking in general, getting any and every drunk, crook, and/or pervert off the Hill should be considered a plus.
Congress has become a cesspool.

Speculation that he wants to resign B4 there's a 2-year waiting period prior to becoming a lobbyist (It's 1 year now...changes on 1/1/08)...If this is true, one would expect more resignations, including RATS.

I agree, except that the RATS are too busy enjoying being in power...

You know, say what you want about Trent Lott, he was serving a useful purpose in his current capacity in the Senate as he knows all the rules of the Senate backwards and forwards, and how Republicans could use those rules to their best advantage. He has vast institutional knowledge. I believe he will be missed by his colleagues as he knows so much about how the joint runs.

Maybe so but big bucks speak to them perhaps more than to Rs.

Twelve years too late the damage is already done. This was one of the first persons to begin the sellout of conservative GOP to the Rockefeller RINO’s and DEMs right after the 1994 wins. He won’t be missed by any means. I wish Hatch, Specter, Snowe, Collins, Ted Stevens, Warner, etc would follow his lead as well. A person can hope I guess.
