I believe he will be missed by his colleagues as he knows so much about how the joint runs.

Sure go back and look at what he said about we conservatives over the amnesty bill, Trent the pompom queen can kiss it!

We’re better off without him.

Lott is just another RINO that talks a great game in the locker room, but is a worthless sissy when it comes time to take the field.

This is a great chance to replace him with a real conservative.

“Sure go back and look at what he said about we conservatives over the amnesty bill, Trent the pompom queen can kiss it!”

Look, you are missing my point entirely. I’m not saying love Trent Lott or be unhappy that he is leaving. I am saying that his colleagues appointed him to his current position because he knows alot about how the Senate and its rules and regulations work. That is useful to our minority, as it helps to plot out ways to thwart the Dems using procedural tools. And for that, from a political point of view, he will be missed by those that need to get things done on the ground level ofpolitics. The strategery part of Senate voting. Get it now or do I have to spell it out even more clearly? Some of you are so busy operating on the emotional level that you miss the practical part of politics and how to make things work for us Pubs in the Senate.

Out of curiousity, if Senators have any influence on worldly events and if a pornographer like Larry Flynt and associates has goods on somebody, doesn’t law enforcement have goods on Larry Flynt? If a Senator goes down, then why not take out a few others who historically have been known to support Larry Flynt?

It’s not as if American society isn’t cognizant of fornication, adultery and homosexuality, in fact it has become so commonplace that pornography has lost its power amongst younger generations.

Likewise, Larry Flynt is somebody who built his empire on trash and is reputed as trash, so who cares what Larry Flynt supports?

IMHO, his only worth is as bait for those who are worthless.

Too many guilt pangs pretending to be a Republican all these years?

That is pretty cool how you can devolve a thread about Trent Lott into an anti-Giuliani soapbox. Masterful!

This from a previous post on Trent Lott:

“On his Wednesday night radio show, Mark Levin announced that Senator Trent Lott [Minority Whip of the US Senate] “must go”. He wants the senator OUT. Former member of the Reagan Administration and founder of the Legal Landmark Foundation [also a friend and advisor for Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity], Mister Levin ran a Lexus Nexus search and discovered that Senator Lott had opposed President Ronald Reagan’s opposition to the ‘Fairness Doctrine’. In other words, Trent Lott’s earlier statement about ‘dealing with’ talk radio may be no harmless statement.”

Fox is speculating that it has to do with new lobbying laws that go into effect next year. Current law is you must wait 1 year after leaving government. New law will make that 2 years.

Yep, he wants to cash out and make a few million.

I think so, too. I know a lot of people in my home state will be pleased by this move. The talk is that it will be Pickering.

I am not a rabid freeper but I will not vote for Rudy the liberal. He should be on the democrat side. <p The governor appoints a real conservative to take Lott’s place . I know my relatives and friends in MS are pleased at the news.

Hmmm.
Sounds like a good reason to ummm “pander” to us, right?

Oh, I forgot. It always the Conservatives who to give up everything.

The Republican Party needs to come home. Or we’ll send ‘em home.

Just like you did in 1964?
