Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

If Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, or Fred Thompson is the nominee I will support him. If not I will vote 3rd Party for the Constitution Party, Lou Dobbs if he runs as an Independent America 1st campaign , or Libertarian Party.

Vote Repub regardless this next election cycle?

Yes, of course, but it does zero good to let them know that up front. Make em sweat a bit. Make them at least pretend to try to earn our votes.

IMO, the GOP is becoming just another useless bunch of political parasites bent on gaining and maintaining power at any and all costs. Trying to be everything to everyone makes them nothing to anyone.

Yep, you forgot Rudy, but you also forgot Mike Huckabee.

It really pained my mother in the 2000 election to learn that of her 7 children 6 voted for sure Republican and my older brother refused to say how he voted.

The last conversation I had with her on the subject was in 2004. I guess she forgot who she was talking to because she made some statement to the effect that she had a grand son in Bushes war and she’d better not lose him.

I could not let that pass. I gently reminded her that the grand son she was talking about was my son. Furthermore I believed in the cause he was fighting for and more importantly, so did he. (FR member “smaagee”) I’m proud of you son.

I share your distain for the current Republican front runners. But I can’t tolerate the thought of Hillary earning her place in history as the first female president of the U.S. If either of the two rinos get the nod, I won’t be spending a LOT of my money to support their campaign and I won’t be spending my own dime calling people in other states encouraging them to vote, like I did for Bush.

YES, I will vote for the Republican presidential candidate..gladly.
NO, I have never stayed home and not voted just because a candidate doesn’t agree exactly with my one pet issue...:)

“My suspicion is that you don’t know what socialism is. But you’ll find out if Hillary is elected.”

I am a conservative before I’m a republican, therefore I will vote for a conservative, not a gun grabbing abortionist. A democrat in republican clothing may fool you but he doesn’t fool me.

And, you’re brilliant??

The Republicans might not supply a candidate worth voting FOR, but the Democrats always supply a candidate worth voting AGAINST!

I do not trust either Rudy or Romney to carry the Conservative cause with any real integrity. Having said that, I cannot subject the men and women who fight for my freedom on a daily basis to the humiliation of having to serve under Hillary Clinton as CIC. I’ll vote for Rudy or Romney for that reason only! Unfortunately, I have no faith that either candidate will create enough fervor to energize the base.

No Rooty No Mutt!

Yep, I could hold my nose and vote for Huck or even McCain but allow me to repeat: No Rooty No Mutt!

Let's work hard and pray for a conservative to win the nomination. We have at least 3 good men to choose from. I like Fred or Hunter.
