Like I noted, most people simply do not give a rat’s *** about theology and you’re basically asking somebody to be able to choose their parents.

I don’t quite know what to think of it. In the eight-year reign of terror of the KKKlinton administration I only saw two groups of people ever try to stand up to the beast and face it down, one being the Mormons in Utah and the other the Serbs. The LDS church serves as a counterbalance to the power of the federal govt. in western states which would otherwise be prostrate and helpless dealing with it.

...you’re basically asking somebody to be able to choose their parents.

Finally somebody, albeit unintentionally, gets it right. To be born from above (born again), DOES mean being embraced by the One and only true Father of heaven. For example, for a Muslim it may indeed mean exactly rejecting their earthly father in favor of their heavenly one.

How many times did Jesus say things like "do not call anyone on earth father" (Matthew 23:9) and "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me" (Matthew 10:37) [how much more so would that be true of "my father's religion"?].

"And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." (Matthew 19:29)

How does Mitt GUARANTEE that his oath of office would supercede his oath to the church?

Oh?

Did he make that oath to the LDS organization; or to GOD?

Right now the Methodist Church is moving toward recognition of gay marriage.

Not all branches.

Like the FUNDAMENTALIST CoJCoLDS (Polygamy people) is supposedly not the same as your SLC branch, or the old RLDS folks in Missouri (Who, by the way, NEVER went along with the polygamy thing.)

You seem to forget that Mormons believe the Constitution to be an inspired document.

OH?

That thing seen to “...hang like a thread as fine as a silk fiber.”?

Oh, sure Els, dincha know this? Sermons by the founding prophet who could "reinterpret" the King James Bible, peepstone the inspired gold plates, be the only one in the world able to read a dead language called "Reformed Egyptian," receive hundreds of additional revelations...well those sermons are inspiration free & canon-free...but the Constitution...well that's virtually an inspired canonized doc!

Someone who points beyond a mere closet-polygamous & bigamist-then-open polygamist & bigamist as the source of Mormon salvation to a True Savior...(you don't need secret handshakes or Joseph's consent...or membership in a religious organization to secure salvation...The thief on the cross next to Jesus didn't have time for a temple rec interview).

Delph, I replied to your FIRST "experiment" post with the comment that I found it disgusting that someone would deliberately sit in judgement on his "brothers and sisters" in this manner..I can hardly believe you are again boasting of this. You intimate with this post that you are doing the same here.

As you say, "Some times it really is what you bring to the table that matters."

To be honest, I do not remember you commenting on my experiment the first time I posted this. However, since I was doing an experiment and not Judging someone's worthiness, I am not overly concerned that you find it abhorrent, amusing, but not concerning.

I have seen far worse behavior here on both sides of the Mormon issue with little call from either side to check it's own. Until you or your side does that, I will merely be amused by your disgust and disdain for my side.

besides, It was after all an experiment precipitated by things said by your side, I would think you would find it gratifying that I am listening, and thinking about what you guys say.

The best thing I ever did was leave the pitifully racist Southern Baptist Church!

Must be a different Southern Baptist Church.

ANOTHER one of the boring idiots has shown up!!!!

Twice a year the LDS hold their Conferences in SLC.

They come from around the world (I personally LIKE talking to all those from out of the country and learning about different places.)

And each time they have those Conferences and attend with their families ....waiting outside on the sidewalk are a bunch of fanatical assholes that yell at them and call their wives and daughters whores and much much worse.

I guess those 'people' are following in the Footsteps of Christ.

....and I guess people like you are too....altho I seem to remember that the 2 Greatest Laws (as spoken by the One) had something to do with Love.

Of course I'm just an ignorant poor person adrift on the sea of life just waiting for the Gifted Ones like you and the others to make sure (and would use force if you could) that I toe the line.

You are boring me (and so many others) with the same old crud.

We all get it. You don't like Mitt Romney...you hate the LDS (how totally Christ-Like you are).

We all get it.

Now that we all know how about discussing something else.

Or is your Faith so lacking that the only way you can feel good is to smash another persons Beliefs.
