Terrorists `Just Hoodlums’

The greatest threat to the nation, Paul said, is an overextension of the U.S. military and ``involvement in places we shouldn’t be.’’ Terrorism shouldn’t be fought by waging war on nations, he said. Terrorists are ``just hoodlums and convicts, so to speak, but we incite them with our foreign policy,’’ he said.

RP has a profound disconnect with reality.

Mr. Paul, please pick up the chartreuse phone. Your mother ship is calling.

Words actually fail! Hoodlums and convicts? Our policies are to blame?

'scuse me Ron, your ignorance is showing! Read some mideast history; read a few books on the jihadists/terrorists history, beliefs, goals; read the Constitution.

Let's face it Ron--you cannot run for Pres. because you have too much reading to do.

I wonder why this guy is wasting his money running as a Republican. His talking points could have been written in DNC headquarters.

I have a better chance getting elected Pope than he has of getting the nomination.

I am a fan of Rep/Cong/Dr. Paul in general, but just like General Wes Clark, (former NATO commander), on this issue his is in fact being dumb, and it just baffles me how such otherwise intelligent adults can have such gross lapses of logic and reason.

What country is a threat to attack us? No country can risk a military war with the United States, nor can one risk sheltering terror groups who do (re: afghanistan, which paul supported action against).

First, why can't they risk it if we get a guy like Ron Paul in office? Why would he go to war with them over the mere presence of some "hoodlums and convicts" who dislike our country? I mean, if he were really willing to go to war over that, he'd be advocating war with (for example) Columbia right now. And why would any terrorist expect to be threatened by a guy who didn't want to depose a regime that was harboring, training (including a hijacking school) and funding terrorists?

Second, wouldn't the terrorist problem evaporate the day Paul is inaugurated? I mean, if terrorism is really caused by our foreign policy, we shouldn't ever have to go to war against terrorists under Ron Paul, right?

Let’s legalize murder and end the bloody war on murder! Hitmen would go out of business because legalization would cut down their profits.

He really is a fine man and a good doctor.

He should go back to being a doctor. He has no business steering the ship of state into a big rock.

You forgot two:

11. Ron Paul is qualified to be President (or any variation thereof)

12. Ron Paul is not a truther.

"The most dangerous aspect, of course, is the notion that this is all just a ‘law enforcement’ issue."

Yeah, didn't we already try the whole "law enforcement" thing before?

I seem to recall that that didn't turn out so well the last time:

“what would RP had done on 9/12 and following if he’d been CIC?”

He’d be hiding under a desk and issuing those laughable “letters of marque”

LOL!

Ron Paul is the most conservative candidate out there, with Duncan Hunter a close second. What part of Pro-Life, Pro-Gun Rights, Small Government, Pro-Constitution, anti-Illegal Immigration, Low-Taxes, America-First, etc., do you find not Conservative?

While I'm not a "supporter" of Ron Paul, per se, he's got good points...rather than just ignoring the Constitution, then we should change it legally to what we want.

...does it really make any difference what their motivation is?

Well, if the thing that motivates them is something you did or can control, then it makes a big difference. By being aware of such (and not ignoring the warnings), you can prevent or react appropriately.

In the case of the WTC, it was pretty durn obvious that we'd ticked them off for being in SA (they told us so), and that they were willing to act (gee, didn't anyone notice a bomb in the WTC in '93?)

So you support changing the Constitution? Has your candidate put forth proposed amendments, if you find letters of marque so laughable?

Or shall we just figure that now the Constitution is a rag that is to be either trusted or ignored arbitrarily?
