Despite his friendly relationship with some Democrats, during the Whitewater scandal investigation of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Chertoff was special counsel for the Senate Whitewater Committee studying allegations against the Clintons. When Chertoff faced Senate confirmation in 2003 for a federal judgeship, Hillary Rodham Clinton, then a Senator from New York, cast the lone dissenting vote against Chertoff’s confirmation. She explained that her vote was in protest of the way junior White House staffers were “very badly treated” by Chertoff’s staff during the Whitewater investigation.

Hillman was very quickly in consideration for the Sam Alito seat on the Appellate Court. Behind the scenes, we were making some noise and letting people know that Hillman was going to be challenged with this info during his confirmation. Although the two Dem Senators from NJ had expressed initial approval of Hillman, his name was quietly dropped from consideration for the Alito seat.

I was in the courtroom on April 7, 2006 when David Kendall presented Hillary's sworn declaration. It is a work of fiction.

Peter actually has home video from early 2000 at the home of producer Zev Braun. Hillary is laughing it up as they discuss when they really first met in 1993. Peter represented Fabio. He had Fabio chase her around the room and pick her up in a romance pose. Would any of you FReeper ladies fail to remember that?
