My 7 y/o saw Camilla's picture, so I showed her this one of Princess Diana, and she says, "Who would want to break up with a princess and marry THAT?!" Out of the mouth of babes...:-)
Charles was a FOOL. Period.

Camilla is the one Charles always wanted. Diana was the virgin he had to marry to make “an heir and a spare” to placate the proles.
And Diana went along with it so she’s not the saint people want to paint her to be.

"Who would want to break up with a princess and marry THAT?!" Exactly my thought. Obviously I never knew Princess Diana beyond what I could read, but I think she was one of the most beautiful women in the world, both from within and without...such a loss.

Why? Because looks aren’t everything. Would you want to be married to woman whose hobby was throwing up? Di was beautiful and doubtless loved her sons but she was also immature, emotionally damaged and at times scheming.

Well, let's not forget that saying that I first saw right here on FR... "She may be the most beautiful woman in the world... But somewhere, some guy is saying, "I'm sick of her s**t!"

Diana was a renegade that did not understand her place.
She performed the primary function and after that was expendable.

Ditto.....
Whatever Di’s early faults, like most, she outgrew them....
(yes, you do out grow eating disorders and BLPD’s either die or grow up.....she grew up).
She was the girl we all wished we could be, other than the ‘married to Charles’ part.

Hard for a seven year old to appreciate that beauty is not everything. There was absolutely no meeting of the minds between Charles and Diana.
For the country it was a good choice - gave Charles two sons, but a disaster for him.
As a rather cynical male friend says "sooner or later you have to talk to them"
According to my best friend's daughter - who works for Prince Charles - Camilla is warm, friendly and much liked by those who have regular dealings with her.
