Well, fine.
However, YOU left out the whole story -- and therefore was misleading -- by translating an article that does NOT tell the final outcome — that the Kitty Hawk group was allowed to dock for Thanksgiving.
Also, read the articles I linked. They told a great deal about the problems with the Chinese navy and the Kitty Hawk carrier group.
I don't think that you read the entire article.
"Kitty Hawk was due to enter Hong Kong on the morning of Nov. 21 in time for Thanksgiving Day holidays starting Nov. 22, but China refused it at the last minute without any explanation. Then they reversed their decision on Nov. 22, allowing the entry."
This is quoted from the article above. It says that China did reverse the decision, even if it was too late by then.
The post above is about why China initially refused the entry.
They told a great deal about the problems with the Chinese navy and the Kitty Hawk carrier group.
This is not true. Both articles say a great deal about some diplomatic angle such as retaliation of Dalai Lama incident. Nowhere do they mention any run-in between Kitty Hawk battle group and Chinese navy.
There is no reference whatsoever on Chinese navy ships doing exercise for blockade of Taiwan.
Incorrect. The Kitty Hawk battle group never docked in Hong Kong. They had already begun their return voyage to Yokosuka when China lifted the ban on the port call. A "regular news search might have been more productive" and stopped you from making a false claim. By the way, those ships don't dock in Hong Kong. They anchor in the harbor and transport their crews to Fenwick pier via launches.
Is this true?! My son sent an e-mail on the 21st saying that they were not going to Hong Kong after all. He was kind of disappointed. His ship has been there before and really liked it there. He's not on the Kitty Hawk. He's on one of the accompanying destroyers. Anyway, we haven't heard from him since then! Maybe you're right! Do you have a link about it?
