I don't think that you read the entire article.
"Kitty Hawk was due to enter Hong Kong on the morning of Nov. 21 in time for Thanksgiving Day holidays starting Nov. 22, but China refused it at the last minute without any explanation. Then they reversed their decision on Nov. 22, allowing the entry."
This is quoted from the article above. It says that China did reverse the decision, even if it was too late by then.
The post above is about why China initially refused the entry.
They told a great deal about the problems with the Chinese navy and the Kitty Hawk carrier group.
This is not true. Both articles say a great deal about some diplomatic angle such as retaliation of Dalai Lama incident. Nowhere do they mention any run-in between Kitty Hawk battle group and Chinese navy.
There is no reference whatsoever on Chinese navy ships doing exercise for blockade of Taiwan.
