There will be at least two Free Republic members going on the tour, and there wiill be 40 Pro-Troop Holiday Events to collect the Greeting Cards to be mailed from across the country and collected to be taken to the troops in December just before Christmas by Melanie Morgan and Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson.
I sure wish the tour could have reached a little further north into Oregon, but, oh well.
Move America forward Bump!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!
In a few days I will be packing my bags, leaving behind family and friends during the holidays, and joining Move America Forward for my third national pro-troop tour with the organization.
I am passionate about supporting our troops and their missions - I cannot underscore enough how much this means to me. My son, Marc Alan Lee, was the first Navy Seal killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marc willingly gave his life to defend the country he loved, and I am so proud of him and those who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I continue on Marc's mission in the fight against Islamic terrorism in the best way that I can, by fighting on his behalf to make sure his brothers and sisters in the U.S. military have the backing and support they need and deserve from a grateful nation.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported Move America Forward's work. Look at all we've done together in just the past few months:
- Rallied pro-troop supporters to turn out in force across America in September when certain members of Congress were trying to cut off funding for our troops and force them to surrender from al-Qaida and come home in defeat. We won, and those in Congress who were pushing for surrender lost!
- We were honored to be guests of President Bush on the White House lawn after we delivered tens of thousands of cards and notes to our wounded warriors at Walter Reed Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C.
- We then learned that anti-military protestors with Code Pink were vandalizing and defacing the Marine Officer Recruiting Office in Berkeley, California and waging a harassment campaign in an attempt to shut down the recruiting office. We mobilized hundreds of patriots to show up and stand up for the Marines and beat back the forces of Code Pink - we outnumbered them in their own backyard and made national headlines!
- All the while, people like you were sponsoring THOUSANDS of care packages to send to our troops for Thanksgiving and the holiday season. To date Move America Forward has shipped over 35 TONS of care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Then just last week we learned that Marsha Weinerman of the Cambridge, MA elections commission had shut down the Boy Scout's care package drive as she thought sending our troops comfort items and toiletries was "too pro-war." Thousands of you again responded, and the attention that your protests garnered produced a backlash against the elections commission and a spike in contributions to the Boy Scouts care package drive.
This past Friday national syndicated talk show host, Rush Limbaugh was discussing the efforts of Move America Forward.
Then I learned that legendary television personality, and kind-hearted soul, Ed McMahon, had embraced the "Honoring Our Heroes at the Holidays" drive to collect 100,000 Christmas/Hanukkah/holiday greeting cards for our troops. (Listen to the audio clip of McMahon plugging the effort - HERE)
That's on top of these great television newscasts on our first "Honoring Our Heroes at the Holidays" event. I want to make sure you all see those news reports because they were fantastic. Watch those reports - RIGHT HERE.
And finally, let's not forget those television reports on the care packages that are being shipped out to our troops thanks to you! Watch those newscasts - HERE.
But now we have an important mission upon us and I need the help of every person reading this note. We have about 200,000 military men and women who will be serving in Iraq and Afghanistan during the holidays - about 7,000 miles away from home and their loved ones. I am determined to do my part to help rally this nation together in solidarity to show our troops we're thinking about them, we support them, we love them, and that we are rooting for them to be victorious in their missions!
Move America Forward's "Honoring Our Heroes at the Holidays Tour" will cross this nation beginning next week, stopping in 40-cities to collect 100,000 Christmas, Hanukkah and holiday greeting cards for our troops.
Write out some Christmas cards for our troops and bring them to one of our pro-troop rallies we'll hold across the nation. You can find the itinerary here (we're updating it several times a day with new information on rally locations and details):

I know that the holiday season is a busy time for people, so I know I'm asking a lot by requesting your support and participation in the "Honoring Our Heroes at the Holidays Tour."
But please realize how much our troops go through as they serve this nation each and every day.
You cannot imagine how meaningful it is for them to receive support from Americans back home during the holidays, and I am so hoping that you'll join with me in showing our troops that we have them close to our hearts at this special time of the year.
God Bless You and God Bless America,
Debbie Lee

I think the route was made more Southern because of the weather.
From Oregon east it’s already snowing!
“From Oregon east its already snowing!”

BTTT
we southerners applaud & honor our warriors for FREEDOM.
free dixie,sw
Har, no that is not the reason. But good try.
This country is full of the conservative political climate, north south east and west.
Take a look at a red/blue map
Americans applaud and honor our Great American Heroes in the Military in all fifty states of this great Union.
The war’s over and most Americans love the south as well as the rest of the country. Heck, Northerner's even capitalize Dixie!
Don't let a few weirdos get to you.
BUMP!
you cannot "support the troops" without supporting their mission/VICTORY !
free dixie,sw
BTTT!
If CNN said it, it is the opposite.
But they are right, the South supports the troops too.
I’ve been through most of the states with large Troop Support banners on my vehicle and found those that support the Troops and their mission and victory in all of them. Thumbs up in all regions of America.
This country is crawlin’ with ‘em!
i have to admit that i'm dubious, inasmuch as it was NOT in dixie where i was spat upon & had objects thrown at me, when in uniform after returning to CONUS during the war in RVN.

Be there or be square!
LOL
The South is definitely pro-USA and let’s not forget, the Bible Belt. What the good guys have got to keep hammering on is that it was the GOP that fought—and continues to fight—to free people from slavery. Liberals are doing their best to pose as Bible-thumpers there and distribute taxpayer-bought favors to BRIBE people to willingly stay in their chains.
GRRRRRR.
Of course I am correct! :>)
I don't post incorrect statements, I post what I see or research.
Just as there are patriots all over this country, there are jerks too.
I've run into anti-American people and assorted jerks in the South as well as the North.
Viet Nam Veterans were treated badly everywhere back in the day.
LOL! Looks like a perfect day/time for me so far. ;*)
Well of course it is, I have no dispute with that.
But also the majority of this Great Country is Pro-USA
I've driven across the South and North and the great Heartland of this country and saw thousands of American Flags flying and stopped dozens and dozens of times and talked to people. I always found more patriots then anti-Americans.
I have to laugh (it's not funny though) at those "polls" touted by the MSM that 130% (OK I'm exaggerating, but not by much...) of Americans want us to surrender in Iraq.
There are lots of states in the Bible Belt above the Mason Dixon line too.
Thanks for the BUMP!
