PHOENIX (AP) — A 9-year-old boy looking for help after his mother crashed their van in the southern Arizona desert was rescued by a man entering the U.S. illegally, who stayed with him until help arrived the next day, an official said.
The 45-year-old woman, who eventually died while awaiting help, had been driving on a U.S. Forest Service road in a remote area just north of the Mexican border when she lost control of her van on a curve on Thanksgiving, Sheriff Tony Estrada said.
The van vaulted into a canyon and landed 300 feet from the road, he said. The woman, from Rimrock, north of Phoenix, survived the impact but was pinned inside, Estrada said.

So what caused her to run off the road, someone jumping out in front of her maybe. Just as good a guess as the next. Not enough information to to judge, except for making a liberal feel good statement.
Well the media loves to put criminals in a positive light. Let’s not forget “Pulitzer Prize Nominated author” Tookie Williams!

Assuming this story is true , he still needs to go back... with honor though and come back the right way.. I suppose most anyone breaking the law would have helped but I doubt many would have stayed to help.

Perhaps the mom was having a tough time after her husband had died, and drove the van off the road/cliff. It happened Thanksgiving Day - first big family holiday after it happened, and she may have been depressed.
I hope the boy has family around.

Can’t assume it was just a accident and not look for a illegal to blame for that as well? What’s next, gonna ponder whether the guy had a backpack full of meth he was bringing in? Geeez! The guy did a good deed, despite being in the process of sneaking in, which is indeed wrong. That is likely all there is to it.
