Though things have begun to turn around in Iraq and Bush's perseverance is in route to vindication, don't expect any mea culpas from the Bush bashers. Predictably, we're just witnessing new tactics in their seven years war to destroy him.
They thought they'd hit the jackpot with the excerpts from the new book by former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. McClellan claims, "I had unknowingly passed along false information (about Scooter Libby and Karl Rove's role in the Valerie Plame CIA leak case). And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the Vice President, the President's chief of staff, and the President himself."
From Chris Matthews to Keith Olbermann to David Shuster, mainstream-media talking heads thought they'd uncovered another smoking gun in the president's hand. The print big boys took their cue.
The Los Angeles Times apparently saw this as an opening to resurrect an older story first appearing in The New York Times on April 1, 2007, detailing how ex-Bush aide Matthew Dowd had "lost faith in Bush."

Without him, we'd already be lost.
Amen to that!
It won’t take long for him to be appreciated (in my opinion)
If not, the jihadis will have won...and he will be derided as the devil.
“Hopefully history will be kind to him.”
History will be very kind to him. He will rank as one of our better Presidents.
Fewof our Presidents can say that they freed 52 million people from tyranny.
And this despite constant sniping from both the right and left.
Dowd and McClellan are obviously ignorant of the fact that they themselves are living proof that George W. Bush reached out to Democrats!
President Bush will be known as the President who turned the Mid-East situation around in a huge way.Bush has already failed. The Iraq war could have been over in 2003 if Bush had listened to his generals about troops on the ground. Even the progress from the surge now doesn't disguise the monumental hubris and incompetence of his administration.
And this despite constant sniping from both the right and left.
Perhaps now people will learn the usual definition of "to lie" meaning to say something that you know at the time to be false. If you think that there are WMD, for example, and act on that misinformation, that is not lying. ggrrrr
If only Pres. Bush would stand up for himself. I don't think he realizes that his way of waiting for the truth to come out allows the opposition to have weeks, months or years of accusing him so often that the public will never even hear the tiny peep vindicating him. All those false accusations stay on the internet forever, never accompanied by correction.

Aren’t you overlooking the fact that he has twice been elected Governor, and twice elected President while being himself?
Both the left and worthless twofaced right, Bush bashers, can kiss my -—.
Both the left and worthless twofaced right, Bush bashers, can kiss my -.Can you think of anything, other than maybe NCLB, that Jorge did right?
I certainly can. However, based on the form of your question, I strongly suspect that listing them all would be akin to yelling at a deaf man...no point.
Journalistic "ethics and fairness" require no such thing. Journalistic ethics require uniformity in following the line that journalism, hence criticism, is important and transcends mere physical accomplishment. Thus requiring that other journalists always be presumed to be "objective" - and that non-journalist critics of the police, military, and the businessman be positively labeled as "progressive."
