Gays challenge traditional marriage supporters: put up or shut up
Homosexual group calls for boycott of Wal-Mart, shopping at Target instead
If Wal-Mart sales go down, gays will claim victory in support of same-sex "marriage" benefits
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest homosexual organization, has issued a challenge to pro-traditional marriage supporters saying in essence: "Put up or shut up." They have called for a boycott of Wal-Mart while urging their supporters to buy from Target.
The reason? Wal-Mart refuses to offer "domestic benefits" (benefits given to married couples) to homosexual partners.
The homosexual organization also urged individuals to buy from Target, saying "consumers should make every effort to support" Target because Target offers "marriage" benefits to homosexual partners. (Target is the company which no longer allows the Salvation Army to solicit Christmas donations in front of their stores.)
USA Today interviewed me November 20 concerning the Wal-Mart boycott, citing--among other things--the number of HRC's "buy and don't buy guide" downloaded from the Internet and the billions of dollars the gays claim in buying power. I told Andrea Stone, the reporter who called, that AFA would promote a "buycott" of Wal-Mart and suggested that she look at Wal-Mart's sales at the end of December to see who won.
However, in her article the next day there was not a single word from her interview with me. Instead, the article was basically a "puff piece" about the homosexual boycott. Homosexuals have challenged traditional marriage supporters to do battle. We will now see if traditional marriage supporters accept the challenge.
Make every effort to shop at Wal-Mart this Christmas season. The gays want Wal-Mart sales to go down so they can claim victory.
Forward this to your friends and family and urge them to buy at Wal-Mart. Announce this in your Sunday School class, at church, etc. Ask your pastor to announce in church newsletters and bulletins that the homosexuals are challenging those who support traditional marriage. Tell them about the homosexual's efforts to force Wal-Mart to offer "marriage" benefits and Target's support for "marriage" benefits.
Whatever.
I don’t agree with what I consider to be an unhealthy hatred of people that are different.
I happen to smoke cigarettes and have been called everything from a child abuser to a pedophile to a murderer. I have also been called an an abusive parent because my 9 year old daughter attends a public school.
All of these accusations have been made right here on Free Republic.
BTW - my daughter’s Godfather is homosexual. He is also named in my and my husband’s will as a guardian, along with my husband’s sister, of our daughter should something happen to us.
Our daughter is 9, she knows nothing about Uncle H’s orientation. She has seen the behavior in her cats and finds it weird that 2 tomcats would have so much affection for each other instead of the girl cats.
Obviously our daughter is not going to grow up the “wrong” way.
So I guess you don't think homosexuality is a perversion, just "different," eh?
I'm 47 years old, at the age of about 10 I was told by my mother that homosexuality was a disease similar to alcoholism. I was told about boys liking boys at a young age, but I'm still waiting for her to tell me anything about boys and girls........It's not going to happen because my mother is dead, but my 9 year old will get better information than my mother ever gave me.
I stopped patronizing Target due to the aforementioned Salvation Army insult. And I make sure I pass it on.
Pass it on. Conservatives hold the economic keys if we just will use them.
It amazes me when I go down south to see how many regular folks shop at Wal Mart. Here in NJ, you are either just off the plane from Bangalore/Quito/Warsaw/Lagos, or just out of Rahway prison.
So I guess you don't think homosexuality is a perversion, just "different," eh?
Oh, thanks for letting me know that because I disagree with a broadbrush approach on something I am a defender of it........
Do you also agree that all tobacco smokers are litterers, child abusers and murders? How about all parents that have children in public school are child abusers?
any bets on whether I get a truthful response?
every little victim group in the nation seems to have it in for Wally World and Cracker Barrel...
Because I refuse to broadbrush any particular group of people because of a few you will never like my answer to your question.
You just did.
What does homosexual perversion have to do with tobacco smokers? It does have something to do with child abuse and pedophilia. Or do you deny that, too?
WalMart buys too much product from China slave factories and uses illegals to clean its stores. Sorry, but I’ll take a pass.
Are you denying that as a general matter ‘gays’ are more likely to be child molesters than normal folks?
When or where did I defend perversion?
My arguement is against broadbrushing of anyone and anything.........you apparently have no problem with such broadbrushing, thus you have included tobacco smokers in your classification of child abusers.
Because my husband and I both smoke cigarettes and have our child enrolled in a public school we are daily accused of being child abusers right here on FR — your irrational hatred of homosexuals has placed my husband and I in the same category you have placed them.
Smart move on your part. This thread has nothing to do with Chinese slave labor.
There is nothing “normal” about anyone that would molest a child.
And there you have it ...
I could care less whether Walmart offers same sex benefits or not. They are a private company and can do as they wish. I shop generally where I can get the best deal regardless of where it is from. Sometimes this leads me to target.
Thanks, I did suspect that answering my question directly would, in fact, conflict with your agenda.
Who really cares what 2-3 percent of the population calls for?
I don't.
