The Law of the Sea Treaty, which awaits a ratification vote in the U.S. Senate, declares most of the earth's vast ocean floor to be "the common heritage of mankind" and places it under United Nations ownership "for the benefit of mankind as a whole."

On second thought, let get the heck out of the UN, kick it out of NY, and tell the bunch of criminals - Screw you.
If this isn't enough to scuttle it, nothing is. It's one more reason why the end of days for George Bush will be just fine as far as the United States is concerned.
Another socialist scheme to take from the productive (The United States and a few other) and give to the non-productive (most everybody else) while the UN scams off a bundle to enrich greedy UN officials.
Does anybody else wonder why we still support the UN?
It tries to undermine the Constitution of the USA and would love to cripple our Constitutional Republic.
In over 60 years No major politician has ever tried to get the USA out of the UN.
16 out of 17 of the AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. were later identified, in sworn testimony, as secret communist agents.
The first Secretary General (head of the writing of UN charter)was the AMERICAN Alger Hiss.
Alger Hiss served time in prison pursuant to his involvement in a Communist spy ring. (perjury for his lies)
Many of the other AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. fled the country, to avoid prosecution.
The ONE AMERICAN, that was involved in creating the U . N. and was NOT later identified, in sworn testimony, as a secret communist agent, was Dean Acheson. Dean Achesons law firm was the legal representative of the Soviet Union, in U. S. courts.
If the AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. were Communists, what do you think we got from the rest of the world?
Making absolutely no sense - if it's the common heritage of mankind then the Senate has no power to pass ownership of it to anyone.
“the common heritage of mankind”.....If this is what they believe, the Sea’s don’t belong to anyone......including the UN. We need to get out of this organization. They also want total control of the internet.
PUN INTENDED ALERT!
Implode the UN, the building and the organization!!!! NOW!!
I loved the band Megadeth, but when their last album came out entitled “United Abominations” and had a picture of that building being blown to hell, I was elated. The title song was scathing.
I wish more people in this country would wake up to what an awful affront the UN is. I keep wondering what I can do within my legal bounds to disrupt and rid the world of this awful organizaiton.
I see it as an opportunity to tax transportation around the world, and thus provide a source of revenue for the U.N. Next, the airways will be deemed U.N. territory and we will pay a U.N. tax to fly from one country to another. Then space will be deemed U.N. territory. A source of revenue, and usurpation of our national sovereignty to an un-elected, non-representative, socialist organization whose goal is to take from US and give to them.

Contact your representatives(specificly all those reps who are on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs) and urge them to support passage of HR 1146: American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2007(To end membership of the United States in the United Nations).

I agree. Trash LOST.
“The best thing that could happen is the passage of HR 1146. If placed before the American people, it would have an overwhelming majority.”
Interesting footnote. Ron Paul was the rep who introduced HR 1146 back in 03. Not a RP fan here but you got to admit his brand of libertarianism hits the nail on the head every once and awhile.
