France learned that it isn’t good to piss off the American consumer and now it’s the chicom’s turn.

Yep.
And why the blankety-blank are we bringing 5-10 thousand or more Sailors and Marines to spend their liberty money in China anyway?
Not to mention the tremendous port fees and the money spent on supplies, fuel or whatever.
Nothing like financing the largest communist nation in the world instead of spending our money with a nation that supports us.
To me this is just more government craziness.

It burns oil, not nuclear fuel...
The Japanese have a thing about Nuclear Reactors -- they don't want them, and I believe that the USS Kitty Hawk is based in Japan or at least makes port calls to Japanese ports.
Japan made a big stink about giving oil fuel to the USS Kitty Hawk because some of that fuel could have been used in attacks in Afghanistan.
Japan cannot aid those who are at war...

The democRats F$%^ with the Military, why shouldn’t the ChiComs?
To: NormsRevenge
This is Communist China’s way of communicating their displeasure at our media’s exposure and widespread reporting of dangerous lead content in Chinese-produced toys as well as tainted food and other dangerous things found in products from China. They play hardball and are like the Islamofascists in a key way - they will only respect strength and resolve. They take the weak and crush them. Just check with Burma and Falun Gong. This will be a very interesting situation to watch over the coming months. I am sure Hillary can work this out with her well-intentioned Chinese benefactors.

I see that the Lou Dobbs poll tonight showed that some 98% of responders said they would go out of their way to avoid buying Chinese made products.

We have used Hong Kong as a port for ages.
I suppose logistically it makes sense as a port.

Well why is it that we allow the Chiniese to port in Oakland, whenever they feel like it, and bring in containers full of AK 47s, and we still do not deny them port access in Oakland?*

Now THAT is a great idea.
Taiwan would be ecstatic over a visit by a USN carrier battle group and it would give the ChiComs apoplexy.
Win-win, I say!

Maybe are just afraid that a ship as old as the Kitty Hawk is now entirely composed of rust held together with paint and that it might just collapse in a heap in port. :-) I remember riding on a Tin Can escorting the Kitty Hawk off Vietnam 40 years ago. Isnt it time the poor thing was put to rest? And replace it with what? Poppy, Cheney, Congress, Clinton, and the Smirking Chimp have let our Navy sink down close to 300 active left.
KH is going out of service soon though. She's the last of her class and was the oldest as well. She got all her yard work done and lasted as designed. Actually if you want to compare service years try this. Kitty Hawk CV 62 Commission Date: 04/29/1961 Enterprise CVN 65 Commission Date: 11/25/1961
