Now, I just bought a 20 pound bird tonight! How do I defrost this beast, and have it ready by 6 pm tomorroW????

I hope you have a microwave with a defrost button!

I think you are in serious trouble, but......partially fill the sink with warm water. Put said bird in the sink and it will thaw faster than just sitting out. Turning it every hour may speed up the thaw. Sleeping is out of the question. Caffeine is your friend......

Now...next year it might work better to get the bird a couple days earlier. As an alternate course of action, you could go to a store and get an already cooked bird! I haven't a clue how long it takes to cook a 20# bird. Call 1-800-butterball and ask. They are open 24 hours.....good luck. d:o)
