I am amazed at the support of this govt goon....really am....

tazering a guy for no legit reason...the cop had every right to pull the guy over but HE WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and to what end?....a hysterical wife...a man lying on the ground close to traffic....two cops spending their time with a maybe speeder?

but we can't stop crime can we...

cops more and more seem to go for the "little " cases because they can't handle the big cases...

I caught that, the officer lied when he was explaining what happened to the second cop. Looks very bad to me. And I usually support cops.

You can call whatever you want. The cop ordered a potential witness to any criminal behavior to not view what he was doing. BTW, what I called witness tampering was after the man was in the police car when the cop went back and lied to the woman and to try to affect her perception of what had happened.

The cop had NO reason to even discuss the event with a potential witness. He did it because he knew he was facing potential problems. That is witness tampering and he should be charge like anyone else who tried to tamper with a witness.

"small penised assholes that became a cop to compensate for that."

I am not sure of your spelling but your sentiment is exactly right.....

I will say this is another reason that I’ve always opposed single-cop patrols

But you probably did object to taped stops. Now it is the citizen, the citizens passenger and the tape against a cop rather than the citizen and passenger against two lying cops.

Tasing seems to be the quickest nonlethal way to diffuse a potentially bad situation.

And who is at fault if the guy fell into traffic and was killed or permanently injured during this stop? The cop blew it for a maybe speeding ticket in a 40 MPH zone? LOL.....hardly professional.

He go the juice because he was resisting arrest.

No he got the juice because the little D, big ego cop couldn't cope with the situation, he could have waited till the other office got there.

I personally think the cop needs his butt kicked. While he’s hassleing this guy about “speeding” without knowing how fast the guy was going.... somebody in his county is getting their house broken into. Real crimes are happening at this very moment, and he’s getting paid to hassle regular honest citizens.

When the officer pulled over the car and got the driver's license and registration that took things way beyond a photo of a car.

Stop confusing people with common sense.

NONE of what you said would stand two seconds of scrutiny in court and you certainly don’t know anything about witness intimidation or “felony witness tampering”.

At no point did he coerce the “witness”.
At no point did he try to cover up this incident.

Won’t even be an issue if this goes for review.

Nope.
Cruiser videotape has helped more cops than it’s hurt.
Works well for both sides.

Same here. I was pulled for 83 in a 65 a couple of months ago, and 47 in a 35 about a year before that. Was polite on both occasions, hands on wheel, told them I had to open the glove box to get the registration and that I had a knife in there.

First cop knocked my ticket down to 9 miles under the speed limit which kept me from getting points, 2nd cop gave me a warning ticket.

“A taser is non-lethal”

You must have missed the Canadian news video that showed a man killed at an airport from a taser.

This officer did not mirandize this guy.

He needs to be disciplined.

The guy would have been liable if the officer had followed the law.

As it is, this guy has a good case against this officer.

The taser is here to stay because ...

My understanding is that a lot of other non-lethal technologies are under development that will make the Taser look relatively primitive. Non-lethal weapons are here to stay, but I'm not persuaded that Tasers will still be used in twenty years or so. Something better will be available eventually.

"I hate jackbooted thuggery as much as anyone else, having experienced it in my youth, but traffic stops aren’t the time for Constitutional Q&A."

And all this was was a young kid with his family going relatively slowly, judging by how quickly and surely he brought his car to a stop well to the side of the road. He was insistent that he wasn't in the wrong - in other words that he is a citizen that should be respected enough to be listened to - but the officer ramped things up way too quickly and "punished" him for not being subservient.

Every citizen has the right to know why he is being apprehended and/or arrested. Every citizen has the right to be respected until he or she proves otherwise.

An officer of the law has a special duty to respect all other citizens and if they ask why they are being apprehended.

It's the foundation of our whole government and if we decide that we're just police officers and people whole are compelled to obey police officers, it starts to look like Germany in 1939.

I have helped a police officer in L.A once when his supect was overcoming him and his partner wasn't anywhere nearby, so I'm not anticop.

Cops like this guy shouldn't be allowed to serve anymore and this video should be part of the training that officers receive to show what a bad example looks like..

It’s not your response that got the good outcome for you. You did everything right.... but there are still jerk cops out there that it would make no difference to. I’ve talked to a couple myself.

The guy was cuffed in the car and the cop *still* did not read him his rights when the guy asked for it. e had time to shoot the crap with the other officer but not inform the guy of his rights?

You actually believe the that they guy would’ve gotten a cookie when the other cop arrived?

Once the first cop decided this guy was getting arrested, it was a done deal. HOW it went down was still open, but the doofus driver decided that he could just walk away from a lawful order and arrest.

When the next cop arrived, the guy might have decided to lie down and submit. Maybe.

If he didnt, that taser was coming out just the same because it’s a damn useful tool and neither cop wants to wrassle with this guy.

I’ve never gotten a ticket that I didn’t deserve (except that damn seat belt ticket) and I’ve received more than my fair share of breaks from cops.

The vast majority of people bitching about this cop just resent authority and are recalling the time THEY got a ticket and are still pissed about it. They’re incapable of seeing a cop tasked with a difficult job made worse by a difficult asshole.

but the officer ramped things up way too quickly and "punished" him for not being subservient.

And that's the key. It's ego for those guys sometimes. I slammed a cops car door once after getting out of the car on Thanksgiving morning. He had given me a BS ticket that was absolutely not correct. So he comes running up to me as I get almost back to his car. Gets in my face and says to go close his car door the right way or else. So I walked back over and opened it, then just pushed it to so that it clicked but wasn't completely closed. He blew a gasket. On the video tape. Was going to arrest me and take me to the county lockup for mistreating his car. I informed him that it wasn't "his" car, and that I was ready to go to jail. It would cost me $500 or so to post bail. But it was a career move for him, so just make sure it was what he wanted to do. In the end he cussed me out and got back in his car.
