An interesting analysis. I agree with Jeff that this "mismanaged" mantra is largely received wisdom - when I hear someone spouting it I ask "really? In what regard?" and I have yet to receive a cogent answer. It just was, because the MSM said that it was, and everybody is repeating it so it must be true.
That aside, the author points out quite correctly that the response to this and other similar movies is in keeping with the standard narrative that Americans are sick of the war but not, evidently, with the facts. It seems not to have occurred to the keepers of the narrative that the truth might be that Americans are sick of whiny self-flagellation that plays well in the cinema festivals but not in the eyes of anyone who might actually be involved with the war.
Victory is not going to be kind to this gaggle of fools. The narrative will be clung to like a life preserver because it's the only thing standing between its adherents and the recognition that they've been actively rooting for the wrong side. Don't expect that to change much. True ideologues would rather starve than even consider they might be wrong.
Maybe Lyin from Loons?? This movie should give us hope for America as these elitist lose their shirts.
Pray for W and Our Victorious Troops
LOL! Looks like Bob borrowed one of the Donald’s rugs!
There’s an idea, photoshop a hairpiece on the alligator man...
You are absolutely correct. A movie about how the Marines took Fallujah would gross many millions.
I guess Kevin Costner has been in some films that are considered good but I haven’t seen any. I rarely see a movie. I just find him rather unappealing. Many years ago he was on the old Dave Letterman show (back when Dave used to be funny!) and even in an interview I thought he was very low key. When I see clips of that JFK movie though and he is doing that ridiculous southern accent I almost laugh.
As far as Whoopi goes, I hate to admit I love Sister Act, though it was hardly a good film. But it was some nice light entertainment and the music was good. Having gone to Catholic elementary school maybe I found the nuns amusing. ;)
CPR? Seriously??? On what?
I agree. Apocalypse Now is one of my favorite movies but watching it is always bittersweet because I can feel its leftist POV.
Hey, you pulled that one out of left field. 2007
Yeah, we agree on this. I feel the same way. I appreciate the note.
