Thanks for the link. I know some people believe adultery shouldn’t matter at all. I think it matters, because it’s a reflection of the candidate’s overall trustworthiness. Of course, the nature of the adultery is important. Like I wrote before, it depends on when it occurred and how the candidate treats it. Whether or not someone thinks adultery is morally evil (many do, including myself), it’s a social ill. I personally believe people in positions of authority have an obligation to live to a higher standard if for no other reason than the fact they are an example for others. However, a person who regrets an adulterous relationship that happened decades ago probably deserves different treatment than someone who is presently engaged in adulterous relationships (and even worse, proud of the fact).
Yup-—Rooty’s got the right credentials to qualify as 2008’s moral flyweight.
“Because power corrupts, society’s demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.———John Adams——”
Excellent quote. Thanks, Liz!
I’d vote for an honest ‘Rat, even a five-alarm flaming lib, before I’d vote for a dishonest conservative.
Rudy McRombee....Feh.

John Adams”
Actually, I see I should be thanking you instead. I agree with Mr. Adams. Wise man.

Integrity: Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, admitting mistakes, and trying to do better the next time.
When I was in the military, integrity was vitally important. Sometimes individuals made very serious mistakes. Those that admitted them were usually treated well and given a chance to recover. Those that lied and/or refused to admit guilt were treated very harshly. I think the system worked very well in that regard.
Thank azhenfud for a powerful quote.
The Brave New World of An Idiot
Was it a “mistake”? Or was it Rooty’s self-absorbed vitriol against his wife and children that allowed him to deliberately parade his mistress in public places to taunt his family.
Was it a mistake? Or was it Rooty’s contempt for family values that compelled him to move to dump his wife and children on the streets in order to move his mistress into Gracie Mansion (his wife had to get a court order to stop it).
Was it a mistake? Or was it Rudy’s ill-disguised condescension for his children that compelled Rooty to skip his own son’s graudation.
Was it a mistake? Or was it Rooty’s disdain for life that compelled him to tell Phil Donahue he would finance the
killing of his own grandchild by giving his daughter money for an abortion.
Mistake? NO, he’s just a typical DemocRAT.

GIULIANI BROKERED TEXAS-MEXICO HWAY FOR FOREIGN COMPANY (US properties were taken via eminent domain and given to foreign entities).
NEWS STORY Bracewell & Giuliani Firm Advises Cintra in First Privatization of Toll Road in Texas DALLAS (March 1, 2007) Bracewell & Giuliani LLP (Rudy's Texas-based law firm with global connections) advised Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Spanish transportation company, in its successful bid to develop State Highway 121 into a toll road through Collin and Denton counties ("trade road" is four football fields wide). The award to Cintra, approved by the Texas Transportation Commission, is the first privatization of a Texas toll road. Bracewell is acting as project counsel to Cintra with respect to the 50-year concession from the Texas Department of Transportation. Cintra will pay a $2.1 billion upfront and annual lease payments totaling $700 million. "Cintra was awarded this project because of its proven expertise and competitive proposal," said Thomas O. Moore, partner with Bracewell & Giuliani. "This is the largest transportation deal of 2007. This is one of only five deals in the country."
DO VOTERS IN IOWA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, MICHIGAN AND WYOMING KNOW IF GIULIANI HAS SIMILAR PLANS FOR THEIR HIGHWAYS?
I agree with you. In fact I’m tired of ‘teflon candidates’ who are like nobody I know. They smoke but don’t inhale, they ‘lust in their hearts’ but never admit to more. Your second paragraph was relative there. Sure if someone is a falling down drunk today, then they shouldn’t be in an office. If on the other hand they overcame a drinking problem years ago what’s the big deal? That shows me a strong person who has stumbled, but recovered.
I’d sooner get behind a real person for an office instead of these people who seem so perfect that they seem phony.
