SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger may be struggling in overtime to get the Legislature to approve sweeping health and water plans, but he's on the cover of U.S. News and World Report this week as one of "America's best leaders" in 2007.
He now has a sweep of the leading news weeklies this year after earlier appearances on the covers of Time and Newsweek. Each of the magazines has a different take on Schwarzenegger's achievements after four years in office.
U.S. News put him on the cover as one of 18 leadership winners selected from a field of 200 by a committee of academic, government, business and nonprofit leaders convened by the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University.
The June 25 cover of Time showed Schwarzenegger with a big arm draped around New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg: "Who needs Washington? How a billionaire mayor and a celebrity governor are showing what it takes to get things done."
Newsweek on April 16 showed Schwarzenegger balancing a globe on his fingertip with the headlines "Save the planet -- or else," "Leadership & the environment" and "Arnold's crusade."
In a question-and-answer interview with U.S. News, the governor was asked: "Seven out of 10 Americans think the country is going in the wrong direction. Do you agree?"
Schwarzenegger replied: "I think this can be turned around very quickly. I think that when you have a war it doesn't matter whether it is a Democrat in office or a Republican, people get kind of down. I think the country as whole is doing very well. I know it's easier said than done, but we've got to get out of that war. We've got to let those people (in Iraq) know that you've got to start running your own country."

This is the one with Pelosi as one of American Best Leaders, isn’t it? I sent them unsubscribe letters several times, and my coverage ended long time ago, they keep coming. Simply adding to my trash pile...
Yup, looks like the same one.. interesting mix of characters selected.

A Liberal publication praises a Liberal Governor. That’s not news.
This happened to Bruce Springsteen back in roughly 1973; he was on the cover of Time and Newsweek at the same time (but not USN&WR, it was much to staid at the time).
He’s a liberal too.
GO arnold, romney, rudy!!! /sarc
Even though it's dripping sarcasm, I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.
God, please help us turn back the liberal RINO onslaught, which, if successful, will surely be just as disastrous (maybe more so) for our party and country as the dems being in the driver's seat.
Just say "NO!" to any and ALL LIBERALS ("D" OR "r").
This is going to be one of those file it away for next year stories. When California’s financial house of cards colapses it will be a hoot to reprint this nonsense.
As a governor Schwarzenegger makes a very dismal ‘c’ actor.
It is, after all, that time of year to feature turkeys.
Link and Listen For superb entertainment!!!
He’s already one of the worst Governors that we have had, working hard at being the worst in California history!
He sure fooled a massive gob of fraidy FReepers!!! (fraid to stand with McClintock)
That’s great thanks.
It isn't worth doing because there is no way to prevent it from turning into a Euro-socialist swamp festooned with thousands of useless bureaucrats who will absolutely guarantee utter failure.
Back off you clueless Austrian birdbrain...
(continuing your affront in my best "Hans & Franz" SNL immitation) Ahnald, hear me now or fear me later, you flabby Kennedy whipped Republican gurly man!!!
Works for me...
