Global Warming, Inc.

Al Gore, Silicon Valley, and venture politics.

Al Gore no longer needs to make claims about creating the Internet, because the former Vice President deserves much of the credit for creating an entire new industry--the global warming business.

And like the energy barons of an earlier age, Mr. Gore has the chance to achieve enormous wealth after being named last week as a new partner at the famously successful venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. No fewer than three of his new colleagues sit on the Forbes list of wealthiest Americans. If Mr. Gore can develop market-based solutions to environmental challenges, we will cheer the well-deserved riches flowing his way. On the other hand, if he monetizes his Nobel Peace Prize by securing permanent government subsidies for nonmarket science projects, he'll have earned a different judgment.

Al Gore and all his lib buddies are “Plantation Liberals”! Think for a moment, the socialist state IS exactly like an ante-bellum southern plantation!?! The liberals/socialists in the mansion, run the place and are the “chosen”, are the “better” people… who “care” for the great unwashed that (should)live in the mud huts. The Al Gore’s of the world have no intention of reducing their lifestyle.... while putting the rest of us on “rations”! Ya ever wondered why the libs ALWAYS side with the tyrants of the world???

Cause Castro/Hugo Chavez (et.al) are the plantation owners! It ain’t hard to figure out!

"And so we get to Gore's final excuse -- the get-out-of-jail card of so many of our warming prophets of doom, from Alarmist of the Year Tim Flannery to that Jeremiah of the airport lounge, David Suzuki: Gore buys carbon offsets. That actually means he pays other folk to use less dirty power themselves, or take out the carbon dioxide he pumps out. It's a bit like paying someone to starve so you can gorge.

But there are at least four problems with such offsets, the first of which is very particular to Gore. And that is Gore buys his offsets through Generation Investment Management, whose chairman is . . . Al Gore. "

——to me the most disgusting part of all the “global warming” hogwash is the fact that if in twenty or so years, a natural cooling trend occurs (as may very well already be happening), the Algoreists will take credit for it-—

It may be my cynical mind, but I sort of wonder why Enron, pioneer of pollution marketing in a free market sense, went from being the Dem's new wonder child, to being so throughly destroyed. Was it so AG and Co could take over the market ?

Enron was destroyed BECAUSE Bush came into power: Enron’s money was a re-invest scheme/Ponzi scheme of “appearing” (though false stock and quarterly reports) to be highly profitable = more people buy the stock next quarter = higher returns at the exact end of next quarter.

When Bush came into power, instead of (both) Clintons putting federal money and US-led international pressure into schemes like Indonesian coal fields and Indian power plants, Bush canceled them. As was proper.

But Clinton pushed these - on the non-Kyoto countries - to allow Ken Lay & Enron future carbon trading with itself.

No carbon trading, no overseas power plants, no Washington bribes? Enron folded.

The beautiful changing of the seasons, perhaps? LOLOL!

I know what you mean: this is the time of year I dream of going somewhere warm, with salt water, palm trees, and with plenty of opportunities for scuba.
